Guy in my apartment building...
...who drives a Chrysler Crossfire struck up a conversation with me today. He asked if I had imported my car from Europe as he's never seen one before
The End.

Yesterday morning, a nice guy walking his dog mistook my Z4MC for a TVR at first and then realized what it was and became even more enthusiastic. Great chat.
Later, at a stop light, a fellow in a pickup truck next to me got my attention and announced that the Z4MC was the "coolest car he had ever seen...". While the sentiment was sincerely appreciated, I think he hadn't seen the Gallardo that was three cars ahead of me. Stopped by the dealership (!) to check out a used X5 with a great price and the service manager hustled out to ogle the car and give me the old "... here's my card if you're looking to sell..." My point... the car attracts attention. It's fairly rare and has some unique styling elements. I'm having a lot of fun with it! |

Crossfire, uh, yeah. In any case, it's nice to talk cars with folks no matter what they're driving.
So, did you string him along a bit "yeah, I know a guy who knows a guy, and had this little baby imported. Pretty hard to get, only a few in this country, man the connections you need to get around CARB are a a real PITA too...." or did you tell him the real story? |

I got it brand new (albeit it had sat on the dealer's lot for a year) for about the same price as a brand new civic si. While the Z4 garners more admiration from onlookers, the crossfire was no slouch in that department. It got quite a few compliments. And while it does suffer from vague steering and a long throw shift action, the engine actually makes pleasant noises and is torquey (I am more a fan of torque than HP) and the handling is decent. It was still a fun car, way more car than a civic si at virtually the same price. All the same, while I owned it I was biding my time to find the right Z4C. |
