Well, that does seem optimistic. They will likely need to come down quite a bit to actually sell it. But, it's a free country.
What would worry me a bit more than the cost is a "former BMW company car" with 1000 or so miles could be a former BMW Performance Driving School car...don't get me wrong, these cars are maintained, but they get beat on pretty good (ask me how I know).

The worst BMW dealership in Cleveland, both sales and service

It is also mean that the dealer never took delivery of the car so it was owned by BMW NA. I don't think it was ever used for Performance Driving School because they would probably had it broken in at 1,200 miles prior to use it. |

Out to lunch asking prices are nothing new, whether from dealerships or over-optimistic owners on these forums. As in all such cases when they decide they actually need to sell it the price will come way down.

Yep, and it's really not a bad strategy. Occasionally you'll run across a misinformed individual who will actually pay it. I mean heck, I paid MSRP for mine because I wouldn't budge on my color combo "To the factory then!" I said with my finger in the air.

Cleveland BMW and Dave Walter BMW trump Ganley. It's pathetic there...ordered parts and tried to warranty my floormats and they refused. Went down the Dave Walter and they warrantied it instantly. |

Really depends on how many OTHER 1000 miles z4m coupes are on the market. This is sure to be a future collectible, so for an investor, the value is probably very close the the asking price

Regardless, I agree MSRP doesn't mean much as it was too high for an unloved niche car, that is finally finding the enthusiast love now that the price has dropped for the used market.

If you think about it, a new NISMO 370z goes for 40,000 MSRP + taxes & tags...etc...
It has the same or similar performance as our Z4m, but without the BMW name or free maintenance. For $50,000 it's still a decent deal for what is essentially a new-old-stock car (if it hasn't been abused of course). Obviously, there are even better deals out there, but just food for some thought.

sigh...a market isn't made when someone is willing to sell; but a market is made when someone is willing to buy.
I'm sure it's nice and all, but thats just asinine.

Honestly, the Z4M wont even be on my long list of cars to buy if I was to spend $50k.
