CF Splitters Yay or Nay?
I need everyone's input! Should I put on CF splitters on my Aero bumper? I originally got the idea from member bmwZ and I think it looks great on his car, just not sure how it'll look on my Titanium Silver coupe. TiAg is always a weird color when it comes to exterior mods, especially black accents. CF looks great on AW, SG, and BSM but sometimes I think there's too much contrast between TiAg & black (although for some reason AW can pull it off). I'm always looking for new mods but I'm thinking this may be the case where less is more? Another thing is the thought of drilling into my bumper makes me cringe, thus no front plate and even my jammers are mounted via zip ties and double sided tape).
One thing to note, the Aero bumper already has a subtle overhang on each side of the bumper, not as aggressive as the M fangs but it's there. On Silver Gray you don't notice it as much and it blends in pretty well but I wonder if the contrast will be too much on TiAg. Pics of bmwZ (hope you don't mind!) when he had the Aero bumper: Pics of my coupe: The splitters: Last edited by 3002 tii; 04-04-2011 at 07:08 PM.. |

I voted Nay for having two pieces on that bumper shape.

I like those on the M bumper, But I think they take away from the lines of the aero bumper.

You have carbon on the rear so this will go with it,
I'd also look at the OEM carbon spoiler for the coupes too for your car, Plus a set of carbon grilles, and you have a nice theme flowing there, PLUS Aero skirts

OEM carbon spioler? You mean the trunk lip? If so I already have that... carbon grilles, thought about it but $250 or whatever seems alot. Plus I'd always worry whenever I park somewhere that I'd come back with missing grills seeing how easy they are to pop out. The painted surrounds on my grill was a cheaper option. Dude - coding, what? =D |

Can't believe I missed that when I did your car, I didn't know the carbon grilles were that much! Yikes! But you can add some carbon here and there to your car and it would flow very nice, I gotta get that coding software re-done, Bloody thing is giving me problems all the time,
