ESS Supercharger in CA
All,
I am seriously considering an ESS Supercharger set up for my '07 M Coupe. The quality is top notch and the price isn't horrible for what they deliver. My only remaining concern is CA smog regulations. I have been able to pass smog with other superchargered cars but things are much tighter these days. It should easily pass the tailpipe tests but the visual is a non-starter. Any thoughts? I may still pull the trigger and just put it back to stock every two years for the smog certification. I would love to hear first hand from someone running this setup in Northern California. Thanks, B |

In regards to smog, you should have no issues passing the emissions tests but as you stated, the visual test will be an obvious failure. However, smog shouldn't be an issue, PM me for details. We are also a certified installer and retailer of ESS, as I see you are in the Northern Cali area...feel free to contact me directly if and when you are ready to pull the trigger. Smog is the least of your worries. Special smog with another stock s54 car and call it a day!
