X6 first service
Just sent in my car with just under 6,500 miles to the dealer in London this morning. The service overdue indicator with change oil & brake fluid came up last week! The guy at the reception desk mentioned that my car was built in Oct 08 (2 years) and hence was due for a service!!?? He also mentioned whichever comes first 2 years or 1xxxx miles! Am I right to say that it may be a sensor issue?
He quoted £415 for both the oil changes and microfilter. Please advice if the service price is appropriate and whether the 2 years service due is from the production date or the day I bought the car i.e Mar 09? Thanks!! |

The Battersea 'dealer' was my only closest option in central london. I understand that the labour charges varies outside Central London.
Still waiting on the other diagnosis reported yesterday as well - Sat Nav disc error; Performance fail indicator etc... |

Do, or do not. There is no 'try'.

Not odd at all. See the many posts here on the from our Canadian brethren. They do not get service included, most countries don't. We get most cars at the cheapest prices world wide and with cheap gas, and the included service, we are pretty lucky.

Yes, it depends on the aggresiveness of the sales marketing for every country. I received £xxxx worth of free upgrades when I purchased the X6.
Got the X6 back from the dealer - all is well. Oil changes are due 2 years regardless of the miles done. Its just that althought the car's memory registered a 'failure fault' but it was only registered once in the system (but I swear it has happened more than once) and unfortunately not sufficient for the dealer to take action at the moment. The same for the Sat Nav DVD error... |
