What wire is this?

Replaced windshield cowling on 2004 Z4. Must have yanked this 21-year old brittle wire...disconnected it from...something...can't see where...and now absolutely ZERO power to the car. Nada.

Pictures show where it comes through to the engine compartment. Curious to know what it is and if it's related to total loss of power. Car was running perfectly fine prior.

Where does it attach back onto?

Most likely the pre-wire for the alarm hood release switch. The switch is mounted between where the v brace meet if you have an alarm installed.
