Master cylinder movement when stepping on the brakes

Not sure if anyone ever noticed, cared, or measured, but I tested how much deflection exists in the brake master cylinder when pressing the brakes hard.

I measured .020".

In the Toyota Supra world, they make "Brake stoppers" that lock up against the shock tower.

Perhaps I will be doing something like that for the future. Thoughts?

Seems like a good idea. I’ve seen some for Tesla M3’s.

Image is from a Supra I'm building, where I'm actually installing an MK60 ABS. But, I measured firewall deflection on both cars (The Z4 and Supra).

Ahh okay.. any other specs on the supra? I haven't measured the deflection on mine, as I may still swap out the Willowood master yet for a chase bays master (which I have already in stock) as the pressure required to fully lock the brakes is a lot. Possibly it's the abs unit not playing ball in between, so I'll need to look at that and or possibly remove the abs.. (which I hoped to retain)

I just completed installing MK60 ABS on the Supra. It's a work in progress, feel free to join my instagram if you want to follow! (@andreleads)

Found a rusted out RHD shell, converted to LHD, building another track weapon.
