Wow is right. Very surprised but it's good to see they have a following.

^ I get asked by my BMW dealer to name my price for my X1 too. Means nothing. Usual trade-in tactic.
That's a coupe and low mileage. No such luck with the roadster-kind. Heck there's a Z4M roadster with an asking price of $22k CDN. Looks like the same car last year but didn't sell. And it's a Canadian model not the US imported ones. Sooooo.... tempted. BaT only takes in low mileage spec-A conditioned cars.... usually with a great story. Anyhoo their price analysis on e85s averages $10-15k as of today. There are almost 200,000 Z4 e85 made. Last edited by Gamb1t; 03-20-2021 at 03:44 PM.. |

Wow. I let my 58K mile 3.0si coupe go for a little bit over half that. Identical car. I even swapped out the seats for M Sports.
I had both cars for a while. Z4 3.0si coupe, Z4MC. They definitely have different characters. If I had deeper pockets and a bigger garage I would have kept both. The non-M desperately needs a LSD for spirited driving, and a lot of folks carp about the electric steering but it never really bothered me because I drove the car as much with my hips as my hands. All that said this was a silly price. The seller is well known and very reputable, and the miles are very low, and it was BaT. Still a silly price. |

BAT is a crapshoot for anything other than Porsches, and I have seen Z4Ms sell for both oddly low and high prices (easy to search). That said the recent MR auctions have definitely raised owners expectations. Two MRs currently posted on CL in SFBay for $32k each, one @ 28k and the other @ 34k miles. Compared that to the 16k miles MR that was offered by a dealer here a few months ago for $25k.... Unfortunately for me, this happened just as I was getting ready to add an MR back to my garage, which I can't justify at the same price as a low mileage 996.2.

Holy carp!
Ok, I get that it's a very low mileage example. But.......base model '07 vert with wood grain interior and base seats? I kinda sorta get the coupe that sold for $30k (based on rarity, coupe, manual) but a base model convertible with automatic? With 3 days to go? Seller must be peeing their pants with excitement......

I don't know if I'd drive the car therefore piling on the miles which will accelerate its depreciation or keep it pristine which kinda suck because:
a) you can't get to enjoy the Z4 that's so fun! b) it's still a base model, hence will it keep its value regardless of mileage down the future? If I intend to drive it, I'd just buy a higher mile version at a significant lower price and enjoy it. The car is a good 15 years old now, so lots have aged regardless of mileage. |

My daughter bought an '04 2.5i (automatic) with around 50k miles last summer. I wonder if I need to tell her to stop..........nah. I hope she drives the piss out of it.

I'm not going to save my car for the next guy, that's for sure! The weather is nice and traffic is light in recent months, so I'm enjoying my MC as my daily these days. Somedays with the long way to and back from work

I know recently the water pump was replaced and my mechanic repaired the heater/fan box under the dash. The valve adjustment is coming soon. Right now I'm replacing the SMG hydraulic pump in the wife's E46 M3. I can't really remember the work that's been done on the Z (my advanced years) but it has not been too bad. The only thing currently is my key fob no longer opens the doors or trunk, old school manual open now.

I'm a firm believer that the best thing to do for a car (mechanically) is to DRIVE IT. Letting it sit with weeks between drives is not really doing the car any good.
But that's just me......

Wow - another very low mileage one just popped up on BAT.
2008 si Coupe w/ manual transmission and sport package......14k miles. Gray with extended leather (beige) interior. Anyone doubt this one will top $30k too?
