For Sale, OEM Custom made LIGHTED ZHP Shift knob
Yes I now have these available to buy, From my thread on how I made mine, http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160920 I have had a lot of interest and request to make one for other people, I have listened to those requests and have made a few for sale, These can be fitted to non M cars too via 2 wire hookup, These are made from brand new ZHP knobs, custom made with my own electronics and give off a very stock OEM look, They look much better in person, They are very hard to capture with a camera but I did my best, I am selling these for $150 per knob, I also have the ability to make them in custom colors and am actually making one right now in a custom color for a board member, Custom colors will cost a little extra due to buying other leds/components, I can also convert your existing ZHP knob to lighted if you wish and the conversion cost is $100 per knob for stock color, again custom colors would be a little extra, I'm only going to be making a few of these knobs as to be honest they are a bit of a pain to make, They are VERY time consuming and not much joy to make, You have to think these have been around for years, If it were easy and profitable to make these ZHP knobs lighted I'm sure someone would have done it by now, Truth is its not easy but I just couldn't believe the amount of emails and PM's I got after I made my own,

Here's some pictures of the knob NOW AVAILABLE in white!
White LED's will add $5 extra to the price, IMO, The white looks better than the red and looks like the white instrument cluster on the Z4 M's and enables the ///M logo to be colored!

Thanks guys,
I wish I could start a little business and mass produce these! The thing is it takes quite some time to make and if you slip you destroy the whole thing, There is so much that can go wrong so you really have to take your time, I think I'm going to make a white one for my car too, I really like it Just to add, I can make any color, providing they make that color in LED, I can do it here, I was thinking of blue, that might look good, and I was even thinking orange/amber, most people don't know or realize BMW use the orange lights all over the interior but for the stock M shift knob the leds are RED! I am going to experiment to try to get a good color match amber led to match the interior lights

Quick side note, Ive had a few people who I have sold the red led knob now ask about the white one, I only got the white led's in yesterday, I can offer a nice discount to anyone who has bought the red who also wants a white one, I can also provide you with some free quick connect fittings so you could swap the knobs from red to white whenever you wanted, Or if anyone wants one red and one white I can do a discounted dual knob offer, Just have to talk to the errr, marketing dept, yeah the marketing dept about that lol the offers there guys

Its all got to do with the emblem,
I think the performance shift knob is a solid metal emblem and no light would be able to pass through, does anyone have any close pics of the emblem so I could see? Just incase

did anyone elses red-lit knobs have the M writing cracked
My friend just took delivery of his black roadster and the M logo lights up in an ugly red (as we know) but worse, the M writing (emblem) looks like it is on some old waxy paper type of look and it has cracks in it. (not the plastic, just the M underneath).
Anyone else find this as well? |

Ricky buddy that looks awesome
This is actually (even for me) the first time I have seen one of these installed, I didn't even get to try it in my own car but know I know what color I want for myself lol! I think the next thing would be white led steering wheel buttons to match the instrument cluster, I think the knob goes awesome with the ///M speedo
