Finally hit 45k
Got my M in 2009 CPO at 19k miles. Finally hit 45k miles on a fresh oil change.
Should I wait till 50k to do some additional maintenance? What services do you recommend? Still on original rotors and pads. I've only done brake fluid flushes. Nothing else so far.

Are you running BMW OEM schedule at your BMW dealer?
You should have Insp II at 60k miles: - replace oil + oil filter - replace air filter - replace spark plugs - replace transmission fluid - replace differential oil - replace brake fluid every 2 years Replace Oxygen Sensor every 120,000 miles (according to BMW) At INSP I replace microfilter. |

Add Blackstone oil analysis to that list. At 45-50k miles your rod bearings may be fine, or they may be experiencing significant wear.
Same rotors? Those are still within spec? (Spec is stamped on the rotor hat). At that mileage as well your shocks are like 25% of what they were new, Oem shocks or a new suspension are in order. At 11 years old the rubber suspension bushings are also showing their age. Considering replacing with oem or akg "soft" poly. You'll be thrilled with the way it will handle after those refreshes. It just did this and the car is night and day. Things age slowly so you don't go from great to bad, is a slow slide and as such hard to notice unless you compare an old suspension to a refreshed one. |

I’d check engine mount bolts and do trans, diff, ps fluids in addition to basic oil change and air filter. The M that I picked up has same miles and those are the things I did

Yep. My Z4M is almost at 60K and I am getting ready to do the valve adjustment. I also plan to rebuild the VANOS while I am in there.

Thanks for the input! I better start saving for all these things, especially the labor.

Agree. My coupe has low miles (34K now since 2007) and at 30K I did inspection II (including valve adjustment) plus PS fluid (ATF, by the way), coolant flush. I do brake flushes q 2 years. Check your PS/alternator belt and A/C belt. I just replaced mine at 34K as I saw micro-cracks.
