Question regarding dealer
I'm taking My car (under warranty) to the dealer tomorrow for an oil change and to address a leaky valve cover gasket and transmission. My left paddle-shifter has been intermittently working and I'm going to ask for them to fix it. The problem is that I have the pedal haus paddles and I'm wondering if they will refuse to fix it under warranty if I installed aftermarket ones. I have the OEM paddles and I'm considering switching them out before taking the car in. Thanks.

Regarding your paddle, have you tried switching them back to normal and trying to see if the paddle functions properly? I know it does the same thing and its just a piece, but just check.

Sorry for the late reply I figure this can help the next guy. I did switch the old paddles back in and the same problem occurred. It seems as though the copper that makes contact to create the electrical current gets worn down after a while. Comparing the working one with the broken unit you could see a big difference in one that was copper covered and another that was silver( the bad one). It's gonna take them 8 days because "they are getting the paddles from Germany" but that will resolve my issue.

What's not working? My left paddle sometimes will not shift down to 1 on first click. Sometimes I'll have to click twice from 2 to get to 1. It's only very rarely, but I figured it's part of some built - in protection feature. Is that your issue too?
Please let me know. I'm still under warranty as well, and would love to get it "fixed" if that's the issue. |
