Questions You Thought Were Too Dumb To Ask
Perhaps if we have a thread dedicated to silly questions we'll have less "search newb" answers in the threads that have been popping up lately. Newbs post here!
Safe zone here... thought I'd start a thread for questions "you thought were too dumb to ask." Whether you're a newb or seasoned enthusiast, e-mechanic or certified tech, hard parker or tracker, post up your silly questions here without fear of negative comments. I'll start: I use the "convenience blinker" when switching lanes, but lately I've noticed my car does not consistently blink 3 times. Just today when I went to signal I would only get 1 blink. Its hit or miss, sometimes I get 3 and other times 1. Does anyone else experience this or know why this happens and what I can do to get consistent 3 blinks?

I will say a fun one I always read on the Camaro5 forums, which is not that bad of a question.
"At what RPM do you downshift?" When I am driving normally around 3k. On track way higher. |

Yes, I do 100 finger push ups every morning I reckon so, but tomorrow I'll try using a different remote.

It's not hard but can be easy to miss. There is a pressure point in pushing the signal stalk. You have to press right up to the point for the short signal, push past it for the the full signal. Simply pressing the stalk without going all the way to the pressure point will get you one quick blink...
As I recall this is not a setting that will be saved to the key.

No but really... the blink count is in your settings. It is key dependent probably.
If you lightly press on the blinker switch, it will use the blink count. If you press on it firmly, it will stay on until you shut the switch off or turn the wheel past its release point. |

Having said that, in a light hearted manner, I got to admit that my SA was glad that I came in for a blinker check and told me that if I hadn't come in my blinker rod bearings were down to the copper... |

Ok, so here is probably the dumbest question ever but..how the hell do I make it so that the car is on, but ALL headlights are off? So the other day, I left my fiance in the car while I ran in somewhere for 20 munutes. As I was walking into the store, i noticed that my lights were blinding, even in the darkest setting. Is this just user error?

Ok thank you, and yes, completely off, angel eyes included. I will try that. However, this would not affect luminosity/lights on during driving would it?
