Well my car is almost complete, but wanted to post this tool my dealer/shop had to special order, as they had not yet worked on any M3/4's with regard to needing this, or even worked on an F8x in this regard.
Also- I believe this is only for the front springs. Apologies- the phone app added the url tags. Last edited by ChrisMT79; 01-12-2015 at 05:03 PM.. |

The tool is very hard to find because it is invisible.

Picture link doesn't work, didn't need any "special tools" myself.

Maybe he's talking about the spanner wrench. My HAS kit only had one spanner wrench. You need a different size for the front and rear. Luckily PSI had a BC one that was laying around that we used.

http://www.ecstuning.com/News/Schwab...Kit/ES2652183/ However, the pic of the tool in the op looks just like a normal socket? Most people don't use the correct tool and just use a rattle gun. That is fine if you tighten it regularily. Problem is if it comes loose it can come loose and rattle and damage the top hat, prematurely damage the strut and in the worst case scenario result in catastrophic failure. To the guy who didn't need a special tool to put in the KW's, how did you tighten the top nut? |

Thank you for providing that information! My shop guy couldn't explain the exact purpose for which it served, and I will not be picking the car up for a while.
Just I thought I'd share this info incase anyone else runs into this issue. Regards, Chris |
