ID3 tags/CD text in Nav?
I thought I had read at some point that the On-Board Computer included with the Nav gives you the added functionality of being able to see CD text and MP3 tags. Was I dreaming? Was this added with a later firmware version? All I see for an MP3 CD is something like "Track 02-01", with a huge piece of the screen real estate blank -- seems like a great place to display ID3 tag info or album art or something. I have an '07 with production date of 12/05/2006...not sure off hand what version firmware that might be.

Since I have an 04 I can't really comment on the ID3 tags, but no, the nav radio from any year can't read CD Text

Mine showed the names. Are you sure the ID3 info is set?

Could be an ID3v2 vs. ID3v1 issue. What do you use to tag your stuff? I've been using foobar2k for years. I'll check my tags in Winamp when I get home.
EDIT: Ha. Just had to turn on the "CD text" option in the music player menu (info button, check CD-text). Works like a charm! Last edited by dekaliber; 05-13-2010 at 05:49 PM.. |
