As Misha says that braking from over 130mph at the last moment not knowing that oil/fluids are on the track will not make cars ready for the turn and the E90 was hit multiple times by other cars. We should all say a prayer for Juha today in a quiet moment.

You could hear as it was grounding slightly at the Karussel banked turn and the hits must have damaged it some. The main 24hr GT endurance race will be the weekend after the Brands BTCC event so will be a great two weekends for all race fans.

Verstappen GT3 team didn't want to send Max to drive in Quali because they think if he sets a fast time then GT3 Corps will handicap his car with BOP penalty.
hmm .. luckily no BOP in F1 ![]() |

Be afraid, be very afraid!
![]() Toto Wolff says that discussions taking place around the regulations "have been constructive" - but that caution must be taken to "learn from the past" where sometimes decisions have been made "in an erratic way." I'm all in with the V10 baseball bat. Since that not realistic just dump the batteries and use a capacitor as a boost provider. |

F1 agrees package of mid-season 2026 rule changes
Although the changes need approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council, this should be a formality. Key changes summarised · The recharge limit in qualifying will be reduced from 8MJ to 7MJ for each lap. This reduction will ensure more of the lap is run flat out with less need for unusual energy recovery tactics. · The super clipping recharge allowance will be increased from 250kW to 350kW in both qualifying and the races. This will avoid the temptation for drivers to lift and coast to recover energy. · Additional safety protocols will be introduced for race starts – both to act as warnings to other drivers that rivals may be slow away. Technical changes are also being evaluated to help slower cars get away better. Tests of this are expected to take place in Miami before it's fully introduced, whereas the other changes will happen with immediate effect. · Boost limits will be changed during races to avoid risks of big closing speeds in unexpected areas. The maximum power available will be capped at an extra 150kW above current power levels, with limits of 250kW in areas that are not key acceleration areas. |

First all of the deployment "tactics" assume enough energy is available, so after a long overtake you still get passed not by tactics and bravery but by available energy. Second there has never been a more UN Formula One rule like the last one, of reducing torque in rainy conditions. ![]() |

Shocked that the folks that meet in dark rooms to make rules and use terms like "stakeholders" would gag opinions they don't like.
RIP Formula One 2026 ![]() Donald McRae https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...=share_btn_url I interviewed Lando Norris and the world champion was open, honest and articulate. And then his management stepped in to police and muzzle him in an attempt to "control the narrative." From then on it did not go too well....this is what happened. "A few hours earlier I had been sent a message saying that Norris’s management did not want me to ask about his friendship and rivalry with Max Verstappen and George Russell or about the new F1 regulations. Norris has said before that the changes are dangerous and “we’ve come from the best cars ever made in Formula One, and the nicest to drive, to probably the worst. It sucks.” I push back, saying it is essential to ask Norris a few questions about the regulation shake-up. With 10 minutes left of the interview I ask about the regulations. Norris’s manager is not with us in person but a phone has been placed on the table. His disembodied voice suddenly crackles from it and stresses that there can be no questions about this subject; his sole interjection during the interview. I turn to Norris and underline the importance of the issue. A young representative of the management team in the room with us steps closer to say: “We’re done with time.” I ask Norris if he can spare the additional 10 minutes I’d been promised. He looks embarrassed and says: “I’m not the boss.” Norris is the world champion and his management company work for him and, when I protest this, he says: “That’s fine. I’m happy to answer that question.” “No,” says the representative in the room. Norris smiles awkwardly as he again says: “I’m not the boss.” This muzzling of Norris is at odds with his open nature and the fact that McLaren allow him to be available for uncensored media engagements every race week. We discuss a few other subjects including the fact that the next grand prix is a week on Sunday in Miami – where Norris recorded his emotional first F1 victory in 2024. But is it possible to catch Mercedes this season? “We’re done with time,” the management representative in the room says. I ask Norris why even such a mild question can’t be addressed. “No, we’re not answering that,” the man adds. Even Norris looks exasperated as he turns to him and asks: “Why? Say yes.” |
