Ppf on front bumper…

Getting track pack ppf on m2..do shops typically include ppf all the glossy black plastic pieces in addition to the paint when getting ppf on front bumper of m2? (kidneys , air inlets, brake ducts, splitter, even the little verticals). Tia

Just signed up for X5 PPF, front bumper, valence and but not grill or plastic air intakes. Also door sills and head lights. My choice so I don't know if my choices were right or not only time will tell

Mine included all surfaces, plastic or not. Though not the interior of the grill and similar part below it, because Jesus, who would?

I honestly didn't ask, but googling it I'm seeing that Kavaca PPF is 8 mil, so I'm assuming that'd be it.

Mak sure to do your due diligence before getting it installed because some shops will try to bone you. When I was a noob to it I basically got scammed and they threw 6mm ppf in the car which although does still protect it, it’s not nearly protective enough for a decent sized rock or any debris larger than a tiny pebble.

This guy has a fantastic reputation and came highly recommended from other BMWCCA members, so I'd hope not. I'm not sure there's any practical way to check at this point, is there?

I have to bring him a trim piece to coat that had a broken clip from the factory, so when the dealership gets it to me I'll ask him. Thanks for the heads-up!

Was tempted to buy those precut front bumper PPF kits and see if I can DIY. But for over 700 beans I didn't want to throw that away since the bumper is probably the most difficult to do. Anyone try?

Owners have different skill sets - many have been happy with their DIY efforts. I leave it to the pros!

PPF installation isn't particularly easy and I think that starting off with something as complicated as a BMW bumper is probably going to be a good way to throw away a $700 piece of PPF. There's a reason those guys get paid pretty well and take days to do an install.

Also, most of those precut pieces are not designed to wrap over the edges of the panel so you're definitely going to see a line. That line is going to be more susceptible to pulling up as time goes on.

That was my thinking. I'm big on DYI but as the great philosopher Harry Callahan said "A man's got to know his limitations"

Thanks. Thats my thought as well. The DIY'r in me says go for it. But I think I will listen to more sound reasoning
