Most likely change will be a reduction in electrical power to move away from 50/50, even if that means slower cars. No one cares about lap times a few seconds slower if it means better racing. Ideally they would make deploying electrical power completely in the hands of the driver so only they control where and when they use a little boost. |

F1 engineer offers radical solution to end super clipping issues for good: — Spanish engineer Toni Cuquerella has suggested a simulation to eliminate super clipping in Miami. His experience spans from HRT to Ferrari, and he believes targeted changes to power unit parameters could resolve issues seen in the first three races. — Cuquerella's proposal includes reducing maximum positive power from 350 kW to 200 kW, maintaining maximum harvesting at 350 kW, and lowering maximum energy recharge from 9 MJ to 6 MJ. He also suggests halving the slew rate and adjusting the MGU-K/ICE balance. — The simulation predicts a top speed of 328 km/h, just 10 km/h less than current expectations, while eliminating super clipping. Despite a performance loss of 1.4 seconds per lap, cars would remain significantly faster than Formula 2. — Implementing these changes would require a complete redesign of the power unit architecture, making short-term application unlikely. However, the proposal offers insight into potential solutions for ongoing debates and controversies in Formula 1. — Carlos Sainz, a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, hopes decision-makers will consider drivers' concerns. Aston Martin has found a fix for the vibrations. Installed the fix on Friday, Alonso said almost gone.
But they removed the fix for Sat/Sun (Fp3,Q, Race) but didn't tell Alonso! He was very confused why the vibrations were gone on Friday and back after that! |

An example why the FIA presenters are idiots. Those of us that remember, Juan Pablo Montoya was great fun to watch but he was also one of the biggest bitchers in the paddock. I guess the FIA owns is A$$ or it it to curry FIA favor with his under performing kid in F2?

Note: the longer it takes the FIA to make substantive improvements in the F1 rules the more likely this is going to be a worthless band aid on what most of us see as a gaping wound.

Their turbo size, ERS philosophy, cooling, etc...all designed around agreed upon regulations. So changes like these 3 races in will decide the championship.
