Out of the 14 cars I have owned, every one of them has taken a hit or nick here and there over my ownership experience. I can't imagine anyone has not had the same experience in some form or fashion.

If one buys a used car and thinks they are not getting a used good that has had damage or repair in some form, well then, they are in denial.

My 2 cents.

They showed the rear driver side fender with a fist size dent impression and explained with pics that it was in a parking lot oversized lifted truck just got it enough to dent the rear fender.
This is the pic from the listing. All damage was repaired but was disclosed by the seller for full disclosure.

On car gurus there’s 2 roadsters near me listed, ‘05 3.0i $11,995 54k miles and a ‘06 3.0si for $11,849 with 77,991.
Coupes no matter M or Non M are holding the higher values from the rarity compared to roadsters.

Yep in the end you’re buying someone else’s problems. Was couple months into having my coupe that the abs module went out. Was fully prepared for that, though pushed getting it rebuilt with always something coming up so had to baby driving it and watch for the A holes that would cut you off to not lock up the brakes. Fixed it last year and was able to get it to the track for its first time out.

Huh! That's a bummer for sure! (I didn't go through all the photos before you mentioned that )

Looks like there is a good chance it can be PDR'ed, though it goes over the sharp fender edge... hard to say for sure.

Extended leather is a nice perk, for sure. Nice example - Stormtrooper vibes!

Feels good. 36k mi on my '07, perfect maintenance history, single most minor, trivial cosmetic blem (as was said, it's hard to have a car so long and have it avoid every incoming hazard) but all original paint, I think better color/trim combo, and hole-less front bumper

The seller said he had it repaired. The car sold without any blemishes. Replacing a rear fender on a Z4 Coupe is basically bolt-on.

I'm not sure why people get so worried about such repairs; that one is superficial and in no way affects the handling or longevity of the car. The Seller as well also replaced the front bumper cover IIRC and stated a BMW dealership made the repairs at its on-site body shop. My Z4 has been damaged twice and I had it repaired at BMW of Fairfax, which is one of the top-rated BMW repair facilities on the East Coast. Both the repairs they did to my car were beyond reproach. The paint match was perfect as were the mechanical repairs.

I think that's simple - you look at it as a fun toy. You enjoy it until it breaks. When it breaks, you repair it, and keep enjoying it until it breaks again Rinse and repeat And repair process is actually a part of enjoyment

But some (many?) look at it as an investment or a collection thing
It's got low milage so it should stay this way, it should stay pristine clean and accident free, or it will loose it's value (in a monetary or mental form, doesn't really matter) otherwise Prob that little accident was the exact reason for the previous owner to sell it.
I understand why people think this way, but don't agree with it.

For this particular car this accident was likely a chance to get back on the road A some very fortunate event, or it would be collecting dust in some garage forever.

KBB said my Z4si value is $11,825 to $14,025 and trade in value is $12,925! This has come way up since I last checked it! A while back and they said under $10,000 retail and trade in value was $5,000 to $6,000! I love the coupe and I believe one of the most beautiful cars in the world! I bought the roadster because I can't ride motorcycles anymore and to "pop the top" is the best second thing to feel the wind & sun on me!

For the low miles that Z4M has it has seen a lot of rash IMO, wheels, bumpers, fender, etc. No used car is perfect, regardless of what is said about it and what CarFax reports.

My Z4, which I bought from CarMax in December 2014, was not either. It showed great and was driven only 23,000 miles in 6 years but was full of flaws under the surface, which I discovered post sale. All I can say is NEVER trust CarMax about what they are selling you. They are no different than any other used car dealership; they just look fancy. Their 100-point inspection is bullshit.

Whomever bought the Z4M on BAT will find the hidden flaws soon enough.

My Z4MC was in a hailstorm and had almost every body panel and piece of glass replaced prior to my ownership. Seller was completely up front about it so it was not a surprise. The only sign I found of anything having been done was the passenger window, which didn't sit quite right. (I fixed that.) I was just as up front when I sold the car. The Z4, especially the coupe, has a 'superstructure' underneath to which every outer panel attaches. That was undamaged by hail, and the car was properly repaired. All good.

Oh and the CarFax had no mention of the hail damage...!

Yep, my 2008 Z4si right after I bought it, the steering sensor went haywire and cost me $1,200 bucks to fix. The right-side mirror motor is not working and the left-side paddle shifter on the steering wheel doesn't work! But what the Hell, the car is 18 years old, but Carfax said it was never wrecked, my biggest concern!

We've had frozen ice-pack snow here for weeks in the mid-Atlantic. With so much salt on the road during that time period, the only one of my vehicles that ventured out onto the streets was the H3T since salt has already killed it (it is slowly dying).

It rained all day this past Sunday and washed the streets clean of salt. I had a reason to drive the 3.0si Coupe today. What an effing great car we have with our Z4's, regardless of badging. Mine is never leaving the stable, never.

I fricking love to drive it.

Many years after I bought mine in late 2014, I finally needed to remove the front plastic undercover and found a leftover mount for a remote radar detector receiver just aft of the lower air intake grille. CarMax missed that one too -

Hummmm....

This has me thinking. Should we create a thread for Easter eggs that are found from previous owners/dealers that are left for you to find? Even found tools in our new bronco left from the dealer from doing the installed items.

I found an unopened pack of condoms in my E86M. Curiously, I’m only the second owner and the guy I bought her from was 80 years old. 😂🍆

thank goodness they were “unopened” Yep that certainly tops the cool led mechanics light I found under my drivers seat in my 128, and the golf tee in my e85 battery compartment, and finding an auto parts battery in the e86 missing the vent tube.
I tend to leave a bit of change tucked somewhere in the car for the next owner, some times pens.

After this, maybe next time I’ll leave my trifecta that makes a cashier do a double take, condoms jumper cables and duct tape

Nothing in the car whatsoever was found BUT the rondel on the deck lid was missing and those stupidly expensive plugs on the consol were gone! The best thing in the car in several places was the RADIO CODE! In the glove box and in the trunk! Oh yeah, no manuals either!

Back in the day.....waaaaay back.
I bought a used 1971 Toyota Corolla.
First thing I did was change out the radio and in behind the original was a bag of weed.

Worthy of an "Easter Egg" classification?
