E86 MudFlap Development.
Hey i Spoke with Tommylgarage to have e86 mudflaps.
ive used TLG mudflap on my f80s and it worked perfect!! protects all the rocks and debris preventing damage on rear bumper and side skirts. In order to build mudflap for e86, I need some one who lives near Butler NJ. Please dm me if you live near Butler NJ PS:Stock mudflap has been discontinued years ago!! this might be chance to get mudflap for z4mc. fyi this is TLG mudFlap |

When I started reading this, I was kinda expecting a 3D shaped form fitting product, similar to the OEM ones, not a basic flat type. But anyway, AFAIK, any E85/E86 vehicle should be the same as far fitting the mudflaps goes

If there would be enough interest I could 3D-scan my car when the weather gets warmer and design and 3D-print an OE looking option.

It's not exactly rocket sience to make your own mud flaps like the TLG one, you can buy mud flap sheets and use a utility knife to make them and just sand the edge smooth. But if you don't have a couple of hours to spare I guess it's a viable option.

I don't think they look bad, but I disagree that they "look like factory" as I've never seen factory mud flaps cut from a flat plate of plastic. I agree they look less bulky and will function to reduce road debris from getting kicked up onto the paintwork behind the wheels. |

Big fan of the TLG mudflaps, have had them on past M's and had something similar on my old S2k.
Hopefully someone can be the guinea pig, would love a set of fronts to help with rock chips/road grime due to running wider front wheels.

Honest question: is this an issue on the E86? Or maybe only for those that rolled the rear fenders and/or are running wider than stock fronts?
Wide body 911's, sure. In 17yrs of ownership, though, I've not had this issue with my Moupe w/ a stock setup. The roads here are sh*t, too.

I was assuming it was more for a non-stock aetup but it wasn't mentioned anywhere. Not sh*tring on OP or anyones interest.l (I had already contemplated buying TLG's flaps for my 4S). I just never recalled this or stone guards being a topic here.

I'd rather just toss a small piece of PPF on the paint area(s) affected on the car. Ran a similar style of mudflaps on my GR Corolla for the first time and it effectively trapped more rust and corrosion causing grime in a now tighter enclosed space.
That is a car where mudflaps seem appropriate, on the M not so much. Drive the car. Paint can be fixed. |
