Dashboard light trio: Brake Warning, DSC and Flat Tire Monitor
Good day all!
I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with the trio of dashboard warning lights I mentioned in the title. Brake warning, Dynamic Stability Control and Tire Pressure Monitor lights illuminated in yellow. My 2008 M Coupe uses the ABS sensors for tire pressure monitoring, so taken together this could indicate there's some issue with ABS/DSC sensors, but I'm just guessing. This first started after the front rotors and calipers were replaced in the spring, but back then the lights were random and intermittent (or not at all on some drives). At that time, I believe I could feel a very slight grabbing that felt like a brake applying, then that trio of lights would illuminate ("believe" because it was very slight and perhaps observer bias influenced by the lights themselves). Currently, the lights clear when the car is off and then started, but they appear as soon as the car moves in reverse. I have service scheduled with the garage who performed the last brake service, but would appreciate any insights I can find to prep me for that appointment. |

Agree unless your battery died recently, I’d think ABS sensor but best thing is to scan for codes instead of throwing random parts at it.

Another thought for you: it may sound ridiculous, but it could be your voltage regulator. I have seen many cases with these symptoms.

If you have a Foxwell 530 you can jack the car up & run live data on each wheel spinning them by hand and get an idea which one is giving you issues. Sometimes it's just dirty and after cleaning it up it will work fine.

This was the exact problem with mine when it did this. I replaced the complete alternator and all the warning lights disappeared.

My street car had a hesitation and the radio would cut out momentarily. Also got the trifecta lights. Found a DIY on replacing the regulator thats on the alternator so fixed it for $40. Didn’t save the link, but search. |
