After YEARS of helping dad manage rental properties, I'm now pretty good with basic home repairs, understanding gravity and water.
So when I got the phone call at 2:57, I gathered my FroggToggs, the caulk gun, and my boots and was able to re-seal the leaking window at dad's house in the pouring rain. Not the best caulk I've ever laid, but considering holding the flashlight with my mouth while rain streams down my arms, I did an alright job. |

What?!?! This still happens? I'm amazed if a temp shows up two days consecutively.

My middle son lives in Seattle, he sent us jackets just in case. Combine that with Frogg Toggs and a hat under the jacket hood, my ass was relatively dry. |

Today is a good day because it's my last day in the plant for the remainder of the year. Flying up to MI to spend the rest of December with family and old friends.

Closing the clinic in a few moments until the New Year to allow the staff and family get ready for the Holidays and travel. I'll be hosting the staff party at my place this evening. And just like the previous years, I will take some contracts at the Regional Hospitals ERs to allow some of my besties to spend time with their families.

Thanks! A whole bunch of us with 25+ years were sitting together in the audience, calling the people getting 15 year awards babies because they are so young.
When I was walking up to the stage, one of the HR people told me that I could skip the 5 stairs and they would present my award on the floor in front of the stage. I told her that I'm not *that* old...yet! Two of the three 45-year people behind me in line were unable to make the stairs, and their group took the offer.....

Yup, by intentionally torching my neighbor's house with three people sleeping inside. Two got out, but the neighbor himself expired on our front lawn after being pulled from the burning house by the firefighters.....

Today was a great day. Spent a few hours with the Volunteer Fire Dept. to get the Christmas hampers ready for distribution later this week. All we need to do now is get the perishables, like frozen turkeys to add to the hampers.
The local Churches and Groups have identified the needy families. Personally, I'll visit the Seniors Homes and look after the ones who never receive visitors and are essentially abandoned by their family. It looks like I've secured a couple of therapy dogs and their handlers to accompany me. The Christmas cards writing project by our school students has been a great success. Our Firemen are great. Over the year, they collect toys, new and old. They refurbish bicycles making them look like brand new and often using their own money to buy parts. ♥ If you can, please donate to your local Mission or Food Bank. There is a lot of poverty out there. |
