Trickle charger hook up
Can I hook up a trickle charger to my positive jump post under the hood or does it have to be hooked directly to the battery? Sorry for the stupid question guys I've never used one before.

You can hook it up to the positive post under the hood. I put the negative on the nut/bolt on the firewall braces and am able to run the cable to the headlight. Because of this you can fully close the hood with the car charging and also not have it hanging against your paint.

You can also plug it into the cigarette lighter (you need to get an inexpensive adapter). I lower one of the windows an inch for the wire. Very quick and easy.

I've hooked to the terminals under the hood and to the cigarette lighter. Unless I have it bedded down for the winter, I use the cigarette lighter if I will not be driving it for a bit. That is so I don't drive off accidentally with the charger connected to the car.

I've always gone about it the same way rockstar does (incl the routing). Never had an issue.

I put mine direct on the battery and then just close the trunk on the cable, it does not cause any issues to anything as the rear gasket is very soft and does not pinch the cable.

I've been doing the same for years now for winter storage - and during summer, if I figure the car will be parked for more than a week or so.

I do drape a soft rag over the bumper cover where the cables sit so any possible rubbing doesn't hurt the finish.

Directly to the battery with the Battery Tender plug exposed. I then close the trunk on the cable located at the slight indent and there have been no issues at all.
