Returning to watch wear, looking for smaller.
I stopped wearing a watch about 20 years ago when I started carrying a cell phone. Recently I started looking to return to wearing a watch everyday. After hours of internet shopping I find there is almost nothing I would want to own. Todays watches are huge! Even 20 years ago I found the diver style watches too big for my tastes. My wrist isn't tiny, a bit under 7", but my wish list seems impossible. I like my watch to fit under the cuff of a dress shirt worn above the wrist bone. I also want it to fit snug enough not to rattle around like a bracelet. Not looking for a status symbol, sub $500. Quartz is ok with me. Thin is maybe more important than small. I know I'm a dinosaur but when I look at the pictures in the "What's on your wrist" thread my reaction is not for me.

I've been looking to pull the trigger on one of these:
https://www.linjer.co/collections/men-watches And they have different sizes for each of their styles....ie you can get watches smaller than 40mm. |

SWATCH watch (their sistem51 is a mechanical watch).
Wondering if you could pick up a Bulova Curv at a discount. 45mm but you might like the way it fits close to the wrist. Apple iWatch. |

Browse ebay for vintage watches
Older is almost always "smaller" when it comes to watches these days. Yours Aye Mark H

Thanks for all the advice. I've got a Skagen in the mail. It was cheap and checked most of the boxes. Kind of got my eye on a Max Bill but not sure I want a windup watch and the auto is bigger.

Grab something vintage! An older cartier? Omega? Rolex? (On the Rolex note my mom has a 36mm Rolex Air King with a brushed oyster bracelet and blue face that is definitely unisex and even though I'm about the 40mm-ish watches, I'd rock it!)

This +1000. I've got a hand would Omega Seamaster that my father bought with his first real paycheck. Get something with some character that suits your needs. Modern stuff that fits your parameters is uninspiring at best.

Decided to wear my Rolex 36mm OP Datejust, and put away my Sarb033 for now. A SS Rolex Oyster Perpetual, white dial, 39mm caught my attention recently. I love it’s simplicity, and clean dial.
