Eisenman Sport or Race?
I'm thinking about changing up my exhaust to an Eisenmann, but can't decide if I want Sport or Race. I wanted something with slightly more growl than Remus, but without any drone. I've read the chart on the exhaust comparison page and seen a bunch of videos, but wanted some real life opinions because I can't really tell the difference in all those sound clips. For those that have heard an Eisenmann in person, would the Sport version be louder than a Remus? Or would the Race be super loud? For reference, the Supersprint Race was too loud and droney for me. Please note that I have a stock system and only will be changing out the muffler. Any inputs would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Although on a si, I have the Eisenmann race...couldn't be happier. For me no droning, and love the slight crackle when decelerating

Sounded like the car should have come from the factory that way. I'm not sure how they would compare to Remus, other than Remus is noted to be one of the quietest systems. That said, Eisenmann race will definitely be quieter than SS race if thats what you have now.

I went through the same decision process last year, (race or sport...sport or race). After reading about other guys complaining of drone from other loud mufflers I was apprehensive about the race model. I'm not scared of loud exhausts (my motorcycle is crazy loud) but drone in my M? No thanks.
So I ordered sport and I'm really happy with them! At idle a much deeper hum is emitted which IMO suits a car like this. At 2k rpm to 4k rpm, again, it sounds deeper than stock and has a kind of throaty growl which I find quite addictive. Above 4k I think it sounds pretty similar to stock but it's down low where these mufflers shine and fatten up the note. They are probably only 15% maybe 20% louder than stock but the point is it just sounds better - the pops on deceleration come through clearer. You can still drive stealthily with these by keeping throttle openings small and enjoy it drone free. Things I like: Well made Awesome looks with 83mm tips Low end sound fatness No drone Things I don't like: Weight (about the same as stock...which is heavy) Price I should point out that I've never heard the Remus, or any other exhaust for the Z4M. Also, I would imagine that guys with RPIs would describe this exhaust as 'very quiet'. |

Thanks for the input guys. I have Remus on the car now and it's quiet - barely louder than stock (10% louder than stock if I'm being generous). People think it's stock unless I mention it's not. I had SS race on the car for only a couple of days before taking it off because it was LOUD. Theoretically, I would like something in the Stromung's loudness or even 5%-10% louder. But definitely quieter than SS Race. I would get Stromung, but I love the look of Eisenmann (but can't decide on Race or Sport or Sport or Race) Didn't know Eisenmann weighted that much? My current Remus is at least 5lbs-7lbs each lighter than stock. SS Race was about 10lbs each lighter than stock IIRC |

Just had a light bulb moment!...Why not get one sport and one race! One of each, not too loud, not too quiet. If Goldilocks drove a Zed, that's what she'd run haha

I have the Eisenman Sport, purchased from Ian a fews years ago.
They aren't loud at all mated with Supersprint Stepped headers. Deep mellow tone and no drone at all. Burbles when off the throttle around 2300 ish. It would be nice if it were selectable Race and Sport modes If I went again I would probably do race just for a change. Goodluck |

sport all day long.... the s54 is a wonderful engine but I'm starting to really ge annoyed with is noise uncorked.... its not really exotic, just very loud and annoying, the motor sound itself is lovely with all the mechanical thrashing and noises, but the exhaust note.... isn't my favourite, after all these years.... i may actually run stock mufflers again........

I chickened out and that's what I ultimately ended up with - SPORT Loving the sounds now
The larger tips fills in the opening perfectly. I hadn't really noticed how large the tips are until I had one up and directly compared it with a Remus Must agree with "Digs" - these are HEAVY |

Very nice XMetal, they sure look the business! I don't regret going with sport one bit especially for the sound from 2k to 3k, such a meaty growl, I love it.
Yes they are heavy but they don't drone so it's all good! |

Killer Exhaust!
Installation looks great too. Had these on the blue car at one point. Really impressed by the quality and loved the tone. Enjoy!

Thanks (appreciated all your inputs and suggestions ) - I almost went with Stromung with the 89mm tips until you warn me about the difficult fit. Could not aligned it any better without your exhaust fitment post Talked to Scott and he said he only had either 76mm or 89mm - nothing in between Was a bit disappointed as I wanted something larger than 76mm but smaller than 89mm. 83mm was the perfect in-between and is as large as I'm comfortable with, especially seeing "inTgr8r" melted bumper cutout Last edited by XMetal; 10-01-2016 at 06:54 PM.. |

euro headers, DKF section 1 with race cats 100 cell, stock Xpipe, RPI GT... = total head ache.... sick of it now... just waiting for the right setup to arise and the right price point ( not easy for this car).
