It's not different than any other spots. I'm able to pull into the spot perfectly straight in 1 shot. It's more likely that they just don't care/don't have a clue or don't know how to park altogether. I've pictures of the same cars day in/day out with the same half a$$ parking job that you would think it's duplicate pictures of the ones I've already posted! These are repeat offenders!
This morning, I'd witness a double whammy - parked cocked over to inches from another car when the entire row was emptied - "fookin' eejits" |

I noticed in all your pics you parked all the way to the right of the spot. I think some/most people don't pay attention to lines when they park and just visualize about how far away from the car they should be, hence they end up parking on the line because your car is all the way on the right plus it's so little to begin with.

Here's another example I saw today - noticed it's on the opposite side and in the middle of the lot next to another car that parked perfectly in the center. Damn DMV for taking away the parallel parking as part of the driving test. They should at least implement the parking lot test after seeing all these horrible parking jobs! This has me wonder (the horrid of) what their driving skill is like Last edited by XMetal; 06-22-2016 at 08:45 PM.. |

I just witnessed a poor parking job in a very wide space so I asked the party involved if she parked based upon the adjacent cars or the lines. She said cars. ::face palm::

lol...sorry, but some of those park jobs are bad enough that I couldn't help but laugh a bit.
I park in what is referred to as 'new car parking' in the back of the lot at my work. Most people that park back there are considerate enough to park every other space in a given aisle and staggered on adjacent aisles when at all possible. The lazy people tend to not park that far back in the lot. The interesting thing is that it isn't really all new cars where I park....it's a mix everything from new to beater.

Have you seen inside most peoples cars??? They don't give a rats ass about a car - it just gets them where they want to go and don't give them another thought. I had someone put their feet on my SUV's dash one time - I about slapped them. People are idiots. If you can't tell my car is clean as a pin on the inside and not to put your feet where they don't belong, they certainly don't care where they park.

I feel your pain... luckily my parking lot has a few choices spots devoid of tree sap, compact spots or park-as-close-as-i-can-to-the-door types.
One of my favorites - pictured is my old car. Crosswalk on one side - no parking truck delivery on the other (except building has not been used for deliveries in years). |

This is a funny thread! I'm surprised you don't have a "we care about our car" parking section, as someone else mentioned. I always park in the same spot furthest away from the building. It's where all the other people that care about their cars park. We don't skip spaces but there is always ample space in between cars. Not quite "heaven" as Tony stated, but close enough.

I feel you. Always have to park far away where it's empty to avoid So Cal's uncaring, door dinging population.

It really makes you want to put your foot in the side of someone's door. No matter how far I park away from everyone some A$$ parks right next to you WTF.

I would had squeezed in much closer if I were the Jeep. I hate people who can't park correctly, but taking 2 spots just takes the cake for me
No matter how precious you think your car is, taking up an extra spot is just asking for it to be vandalized - IMHO Last edited by XMetal; 06-30-2016 at 10:59 PM.. |

Exactly. Back in my Land Rover days I parked exactly like the Jeep one time and I may or may not have held onto my heavy door when, passenger side high on the curb, I opened it next to the other car. It was a beat down old Subaru, though, so I doubt the owner (a high school age girl, I later found out) noticed any damage. Not saying what I did was right...it certainly wasn't...but it wouldn't have happened if the Subaru hadn't taken their slice out of the middle.

I understand where you are coming from - basically, when I park, I don't want anyone next to me. But .... I do have to say that those are the biggest widest parking bays evverrrr. You should see what we have to park in, at shopping garages in Australia ... which is why I try not to take mine into parking garages at all (if I can avoid them). Yours is LUXURY - as the 4 Yorkshiremen would say - if you know a little Monty Python
