Thx mate, now finally started the CSL intake upgrade...
Getting things ready.. Lots of tools out, running through Asivr's DIY makes things very very easy. Update in a bit.. I'll explain some of the pics in a bit, gotta go swim with Indi, it's her birthday today. :-)

Tribulations of a vacuum fitting. Sorted.. will expand on these images later.. Bought wrong size vacuum extended hose, need to get new one tonight.. Airbox now preped to go back in, only a few more things to do before final fitting… Cleaned out the TB, and now look spanking new. I originally thought the boots from my own OEM air box would fit, and thought spending 120US for 6 new boots was a crock, but i can see now the boots are def not the same size. have been thinking about how this is best going to work, i think i will fit the boots to the TB and clamp them, then fit the box to the boots...

Thanks for the words of advise guys, Byron, I looked at that, but this intake hasn't been off the TB for now 206k kilometers, so in those terms its not too bad. cleaned up pretty easy too.
Shane, ofcourse, no worries when its all in and running properly. BmwZ, mate, I surely hope your right mate Dub, mate to be honest man, the numbers say it all, lousy return for HP, SC is a much, much better investment in the search for power. Don't get me wrong man, its nice, real nice.. but depending on the actual box and tune, your looking between 10-20 horses max.. and roughly the same outlay as an entry level SC.. Partways there with 4 boots clipped on and secured.. its actually quite a task to use the proper BMW clips. Yep they are all on, notice also the dipstick displaced towards the side, no bending required. Close up of the clips.. Note to oneself and other who might attempt this mod, The stock OEM claps are the same for the CSL intake as for the OEM intake boots, and that would kinda make sense as the inlet ports are of course the same size, so you could have reused the old OEM clamps for the inlet TB side. Box of parts required to refit the CSL intake into the car. total cost around 250US. More to come. Ive just noticed, the vac line that i busted is 12 mill and i have 10mill line.. sigh.. back to the shop.. **edit** so waiting to go back to the shop to get some more vacuum line, ill also need to build a new vacuum line for the section from the OEM elbow to the top of the intake.. *** I just test fitted the intake… *** holy cows.. the thing fits like a glove, no need for trying to force it on the rubber boots, it fits like it was made for it and just very easily slides on with just slight pressure required… very impressed by Karbonious quality..

Yep, though they are slightly different, though no doubt operate the same. Its all oem Ian, minus building part of the vac line. The duct pictured in the above parts picture is probably not going to be used. Heck, as it fits on the bottom half end of the snorkel, as it looks at the moment, even that may need to be trimmed down.. really hoping thats not the case..

vac line and a few tools for clamps.
And Also.. Clamps More pics, but gotta take the kids to the park. Those with keen eyes will see oat sensor still needs to be pluged and placed. But its in, took a while, but its finally in. I still need to make the final vac line for the top hose. After this, that will be an easy job. :-D

Thanks guys.. another update.. just got back from a day in Adelaide..
The prep for the snorkel has started. Shows the difference between the OEM air intake inlet and the CSL intake size... roughly about 4 x bigger. One Karbonious CSL Snorkel. Note huge intake size.. Nearly done, snorkel only left to be fitted, but of course judging by the size, something will need to give. This thing really is HUGE... And then finally .. its on! You also note the new vacuum line i needed to make exiting out of the top of the intake, this one goes to the OEM elbow one. Pretty happy with how this turned out. I just hope it has access to enough air.

Ok, ran into a big stuff up, .. Bloody IAT probes…
so as i have the Epic tune, which suggests that you need the bimmerworld IAT (inlet air temp probe) kit, so bought that, i also stuffed up while ordering some other bits and pieces, and accidentally ordered the actual CSL IAT probe.. (38euros or something like that).. anyways.. looking at it now, i should have seen that straight away that the Bimmer world IAT probe was never, ever going to fit this CSL intake.. so luckily i had the CSL temp probe.. I just hope that both do exactly the same thing.. plugs are the same, only 2 wires, so i have high hopes. I guess Karbonious models its intake exactly of the OEM one, and thats probably also why this thing fit like a glove. (the intake) the CSL IAT also fits exactly. very cool. pics to follow so you guys don't make the same stuff up as i do. …

First in a Z4M in Dubai? yep, though there is also one with a Goke box in Oman.
Ok, so here we go, Hooking up the IAT probe to the MAF cable. Only 2 cables required, and in any order. Pretty darn easy actually. The yellow one of the right is number 5, and the ones you need are 1 and 3. all depends on how you want to do this, i went pretty much the whole hog and just cut the plug off. It makes for a much cleaner look, and if I ever need to go back to stock, ill re-solder the plug. easy! Prepped for soldering.
