Remove airbox question
Trying to remove my airbox, two odd fasteners with arrows. You'd think the pictures would make it easy. I see via Googs, that some models remove a bolt; not so with mine. My best guess is to lube the plastic and pull out. Anyone got the correct answer? See pic.

Don't feel bad. I went through the same thing.
Spent about 1/2 hour trying to figure out how to unclip them from underneath. Finally out of desperation I just stretched the grommets over the pegs, and then realized, "OH. That's how they're supposed to come off."

The filter box is pretty much covered here... re the collector air box, you might find this helpful.

I don't think you need to remove the clips to remove the airbox. I've had to remove the clip when I installed my AFE intake, but that's only because AFE uses the clip's location as a mounting point for the box using nuts and bolts.
But if you need to remove the clip: That's the clip out of the car (see the AFE boxes in the background?). The side profile shows how the two half of the bottom of the clip comes apart. When that "cone" gets pushed down, it levers out a small part underneath the clip to hold it in place in a square hole. You pop the cone up, then the clip rotates 90º and it comes right out. The top part is what's inserted into the rubber grommet on the airbox to secure it to the chassis. The bottom half of the airbox pulls right up, just require some force to clear the small pen*s tip.

You do not have to remove the clips, just pull the filter air box up & the clips stay behind.
