GTA meetup?
Snow is almost gone for the most part and now just waiting for the temps to hit double digits. There seem to be quite a few members around the GTA, so I was wondering if there be interest in meet up on a Saturday or Sunday for a Cars & Coffee and maybe a drive through the Niagara Escarpment? Would be cool to get a bunch of Zeds in one location. I was thinking April 18,19,25 or 26? And not to exclude anyone outside the GTA, if you want to make the trip the more the merrier.
UPDATED MAY 8th Official date for the meet is Saturday May 9th. Please let me know if you plan to attend breakfast so I can call ahead to make reservations. Hopefully the weather keeps getting better, here's the forecast I think that I might do a pre-run on May 2nd to make sure the proposed route doesn't have any unexpected road closures and maybe identify some bad roads etc. I would like to possibly make some sort of a small video of this meet, so if you have a gopro, dji, or any other camera equipment bring it! I'll keep you guys posted. Attendees
The Details 8:00am meet at Russell Williams Restaurant for breakfast for those who want to eat. 20 Plains Rd E Burlington 9:00am meet at the Parking lot of Royal Botanical Gardens 680 Plains Rd W Burlington This Lot 9:30am roll out for cruise to Bellfountain 11:30am arrive at Higher Ground Coffee Co. Sounds like a good idea, we haven't done a gtg for a while.
A few of us get out to some of the cars & coffee days put on by Engineered Automotive. They usually run the first Sunday of the month. Not sure where I'll be at with my car in April, I have a ton of work I'll be doing as soon as it gets warm enough to spend time in the garage.

I'd be interested in meeting up but I have a few things I need to get done first on the car.
Also I usually don't put it back on the road until May 1st |

Turned insurance on as of April 1st, hopefully can get the car out before the end of April though :P haha
I am down for meeting. Once a more firm date is set I can confirm as well.

Sound like late April or early May. I too have a few things to get done, one of which coilovers, so hopefully they arrive by next week. I haven't put insurance back on yet myself as I'll be switching insurance companies so trying to time everything. Anyways, keep the replies coming and suggestions of a location? Maybe we could even do breakfast?

Later in the season we should think about a half decent cruise. Mike519 arranged one a few years back and it was a lot of fun. Anyone know if Mike is still active around here? Haven't seen a post from him in a while. |

I wouldn't mind jumping in if I could. I'm a new member here living in Oakville but also have a place in NOTL. If the date works for me and it's kool I'll join in.

OK, so I have been giving this a bunch of thought and this is the idea. If the weather man is right we should hit temps in the mid teens past the 19th of April (for all you roadies out there) so I'm thinking April 25/26 or May 02/03 maybe even May 09/10 but I rather not wait too long. Personally Saturdays are better for me then Sundays. I will post a poll and we'll see what works best for anyone wanting to attend. You can pick more then one date and we'll go with the one that has the most votes.
Here's the rough plan. Meet somewhere in Burlington possibly at the parking lot of the Royal Botanical Gardens 9am. Easy access to get here via QEW and 403. I was thinking if some people wanted to get breakfast beforehand, we could meet at some restaurant near there (still have to scout that out, so if you know any let me know) around 8am have a bite and move to the meeting spot at 9am. Wait for everyone to gather, socialize and roll out at 9:30. The drive would be approximately 80-90km 1:30-1:45mins though the escarpment on twist and turns ending through the Forks of the Credit and we'd stop for ice cream at Belfountain. This should put us at 11am to 11:30am. From there, people can chat a bit, grab lunch or end it that's up in the air and up to everyone. Easy access to the 410 just down HWY10 for quick ride home. I have a route planned out which I will make a Google map of and share it out. My wife and I drive through these parts a lot so there is some really nice scenery to see and drive. There is one particular turn up a really steep hill on Appleby line just before Rattle Snake point that I love and she hates . If there are a bunch of gopro users it would be cool to put a video together from a few vantage points. Here are some quick view of things we'd see along the way. Rocks Homes I can't afford Old Barns Probably still can't afford The Red Planet Train Bridges Snakes and ladders Thanks, Adam Last edited by Cyclops; 04-05-2015 at 11:48 PM.. |

I'm not sure how it's going to work out for me to have my car on the road.
Right now I have the rear diff off in prep for the new one, then suspension is next. I won't vote in the poll, you guys pick what works best & I'll try to fit in. (It may be in the DD)

I hear there are speed bumps now and lots of cyclists at the Forks. Plus my friend has been getting the stink eye when he cruises through in a half decent car.
I'm not against going there at all, just joining in on the discussion. Dundas/Ancaster has some nice roads to drive around on. Old Ancaster Rd-> Sulpher Springs->Mineral Springs Road. Speaking of which, I saw an IB M Roadster in front of a bike store around there. |

I think this sounds good, if no other suggestions come forth this will be it.

I checked out Mineral Springs on Google maps and that looks cool, I might actually drive it this weekend and check it out. M or non-M don't matter, we're all enthusiasts, just come and enjoy the company |
