It won't be removable and able to be popped back on in case of rain. He states earlier in the thread (I know it's long, understandable) that he won't do it this way because there's no safe way to store the roof in the car while it's removed. Sunny days only! :-) I don't know that he's planning on selling just a removable roof kit though I think he'd be hesitant to do so for liability purposes since he know's how it would likely be used.

I meant more along the lines of keeping it open for summer & sealing it in winter. ie. storing the roof in the garage when not in use. Is that the general idea or am I still lost? |

Sounds like we're all misunderstanding each other. All I meant is that Twisted isn't recommending that it be kept in the car for quick easy reinstallation in case of rain which is what I thought you were talking about, Navz. My reply wasn't all that clear. Sorry.

WOW, this looks amazing!
Am I understanding the 'removable roof' term correctly? Will we be able to drive around without a roof as in the pic (with some trim to hide the bare metal of course) & if it rains we can simply put the roof on? Would the removable oem roof kit be a lot smaller/lighter for shipping? ie We re-use our existing roof? Would you be able to ship the removable oem roof kit or moonroof to South Africa? If so, I'd love to be on that list :thump: PS. I could probably get a local group buy together if that'll help with shipping. Quote:

What I meant is does this kit include a new roof? If it's just a kit that let's us re-use our current oem roof then this option will be cheaper for both shipping as well as your cost i.e. you won't ship an entire roof like the CF/moonroof option.

yes, its a removable sun/moonroof with a tint. Some type of glass or hard durable type plexiglass or something like that. But yes, its a tinted see thru roof. He's trying to make it where you can remove that sunroof as well and have the option to be off or on.

It would allow for the stock OEM roof to be removed for open air cruising. The headliner would be a custom trimmed finishing part to look OEM and allow for unobstructed open top views with a built in speed-aire for wind buffeting reduction at highway speeds.

I would love an update as well. I don't care too much for a CF roof, but a removable one would be amazing.

vince hasn't been responding to any of his threads. I think it's safe to say at this point that both the CF roof and the clear top options he was working on are dead, and likely have been since his family obligation changed shortly after Ian's roof was installed. it's sad that the amount of work he put into to these projects never made him any money. hopefully home life has calmed a bit for him and he's enjoying a beer somewhere not worrying about it.
