Most of the major brands I checked require a 9.5" or wider wheel to fit 285/35/R18 sized tires.
Will it fit? Maybe. Is it smart to do so? That's a resounding NO. Those sidewalks will be pinched in too far for the tire to be effective, and may actually generate excessive heat and cause them to fail prematurely.

It might fit, but it would probably bulge a LOT. I have 275/35/18's on my stock rear wheels and I wouldn't go any wider.

Counterproductive, as is running a 275, for most tire types, on the stock rear wheel. Contact patch is compromised. Confirmed via pyrometer readings--load is on the middle of the tire and doesn't use much of the inside/outside. Recommend using "measured" rim as the guide for width, not min allowable. A 265/35 rear on the stock wheel will outperform a 275 in terms of available rubber on the road for most street tires. In fact, some 265s have wider specs than 275s. |

That's a super good picture to reference. Was curious about fitting 285s on a new set of wheels but wasn't positive it would make it with out serious camber. I like your newer set ups now Platinum Child.
