I don't think you'll get a good response here as it was never offered in the US and most of our members are US-based. The Z1 is a very cool car! it's like a toy.

We get some of these showing up at our local "Tedfest" annual meet.
They are a cool looking car. No idea what they're worth though.

According to wiki: "BMW only produced 8,000 Z1 models. The majority of these (6,443) were sold in BMW's native German market"
Even 8000 is low ... interestingly, not that much lower than the Z4 coupe (about 17,000 worldwide, in all variants: 3.0 si and M combined). Rather boosts my confidence that the Z4 coupe will be just as collectable/desirable/rare. P.S. The Z1 only has a 125 kW engine --- not that different to a 323i from the same period of 1987. P.P.S. I remember when the brochures came out for the Z1 in the BMW magazine ... I wasn't old enough to drive yet ... but it started my love affair with the Z range! |

To me it indicates that it can go either way. 18 to 45k after 20+ years, for such a limited, unique and different car seems somewhat low to me. It's more of a cult following than a collector's market.
