Coding daytime running lights, is that tied to from OBC metric/imperial setting?

I have a Canadian Z4MC and the xenons low-beams are always on, regardless of light switch setting.

I want to change it so that only the halo / angel eyes are on during the day, and have the option of choosing when to turn on the xenons. I believe this is the way it works on US cars?

Is it possible to make this change without coding all of the electronics to think it's from the US? I want to keep my OBC / trip computer in metric (km/h, celsius) units.

Yes it is possible through coding the LCM module only.

Your canadian z4mc is a DU91 or DU93?

My US model with Xenon has halos as DRL and Xenon are off. My LSZ module settings are as follows:

DAUERFAHRLICHT_US - DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (USA)
nicht_aktiv

GED_FL_ALS_DRL - DIMMED HIGH BEAMS AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS
aktiv

The OBC is another module and should not be effected by changing the setting on the light control module (LSZ)

I imported my 3.0si from the US into Canada and I asked the US dealer to set the car up for Canadian spec daytime running lights and to convert the odometer to kilometers.

When I got the car, they had correctly changed the odometer to kilometers, but they messed up on the daytime running lights. Instead of the Canadian spec which you currently have, they set up US spec, which is the halos only - what you want. So it is absolutely possible.

I actually think this is safer. I turn on the full headlights out of habit in the day. But I can turn off the Zenons and run with the fog lights only in foggy conditions and avoid headlight glare from my headlights shining back at me from the fog. I could not do that with Canadian spec DRLs.
