To me there is nothing better than having them on a daily driven car. They are extremely reliable when running the right management. Being able to slam it when parked, ride around at a nice sport drop height and then raising up for that extra clearance when needed all with the touch of a button is so great. Most the people that dislike bags are either people who have never driven a properly bagged car or the kids that still think static, slammed, banged up lips and fenders with paint chipping somehow makes you more of a man lol. |

Finally some updates. Came home to this:
New front lip, should look good. Just kind slid it under the car to get an idea. Won't go on until it's painted though. I originally was gonna order new rear bags but I decided to get some things painted in the coming weeks so I ordered the lip so I could throw that in the mix. I sold the ESM Wheels and ordered some new ones, tires should've been here today so hopefully they show up tomorrow. The size I needed for the fronts were on backorder so I've been playing the waiting game but in the meantime here's the new wheels! Vossen VVS-083: And a blurry shot since she's dirty right now. |

Haven't updated this in a bit so here's the "copy and pasted" update:
So getting tires has been the biggest headache. Apparently finding a matching staggered set of 215/35/19 & 235/35/19 is damn near impossible unless I wanna pay $200+ a tire. After being told tires were in stock when they weren't, tires were expired or on backorder for weeks, etc I got hold of some Falken FK453's today! Did a test fit over the weekend with some 225/35/19's. Wasn't able to air down all the way but with the 215's I should be perfect. Then in my never ending quest to restore this car to it's prime. I dropped it off at the paint shop this morning for a respray on the front bumper and horrible oxidized trunk. They're also gonna be spraying the front lip. ...and now for its current state: Two shots from Bimmerfest, hoping to have a proper shoot later this week. |

For the A3 as far as bolt on kits go you have either Airlift struts or Airrex. I haven't driven any of the new Airlift kits that are setup more like coils but my previous ride was an Airlift bagged Audi TT and that thing rode great. Very OEM plus like and great for a DD. The Airrex struts are going to feel more like an aggressive coilover setup. As far as management goes there are a lot of different options you can opt for. I have the airlift v2 digital management which I really like. 8 different presets that allow me to change height on the fly. Accuair does have a bit more advanced setup that utilizes their e-level sensors. The difference in the two are one is pressure based (v2) and one is height based (e-level). You can get a full digital Airlift kit w/struts for around $2400 right now on bagriders.com iirc. Feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions |

So I haven't really updated this thread in a while but theres been some minor changes to the car since the last post.
When we left off the car looked like this: Then I sold the Vossens and rocked the stockies for a little Then I picked up these Hamann HM2's which have always been a favorite of mine. Love the way they look but the specs are kind of weak. Still a very classic look though. Also ended up doing a muffler delete which always sounds great with the 2.5 So other than the wheel changes and typical maintenance that has been about it really since I've been spending money on my beer travels and the gf's bday and best friends bachelor party. But now that those things are just about past I can focus back on the car again. So as of last night I was refinishing the hamanns and getting the car ready for Wekfest LA and while I decided to go get an xacto knife at the store so I can tint my tails all red this happened... I pulled into my parking spot (as far away from ppl as possible like always) and then realized it was a little close to a few shopping carts so I backed up to go one spot over and as I was putting the car back in first and letting the clutch out I hear BOOM. I'm guessing the Tahoe that hit me didn't see the Z4 behind the double row of carts and as he went on to the other side of the row to avoid them he clipped me. He managed a broken hub cap I got this... Turns out he was unlicensed and called his wife to come and she tried to convince me to lie to insurance and say she was driving and that her husband had hit someone earlier in the month and they lied no problem and that everything will be fine...that's when I decided to get the police involved. Took the car to the shop today and now we're working on getting her back out and better than ever while insurance deals with the police report. Some other good news (trying to stay positive) is that I've been talking to AirREX about the bag setup I'm running, since I was one of the first to run their setups, and how pleased I am with it however I do wish the rear went lower. So without hesitation I get an email back saying I have new rear bags on the way that they'd like me to test out FOR FREE! Those are expected to be here tomorrow so that will be interesting to see how much lower I can get the rear. Sorry for the long write up but thats where its at now and stay tuned in the next couple weeks for some updates!
