You can probably do that yourself with a DIY man
If it makes you feel any better, I paid $70 USD wayyyy back in the day for a set of LED bulbs. Sure, LED technology used to be new back then, but come on... Needless to say, I never spoke to that asshole seller again, even though he's technically a local |

The $70 the dealer wanted to charge me for turning on my running lights, until my regular SA told the original SA to F-off... "He bought the car from us!"

But of course, I'm too cheap to pay that kinda money for that kinda 2-minute job. So I probably wouldn't be in that situation to begin with The only time something like that happened was when my old battery was dying, and my windows needed to be reinitialized. I had just picked the car up from the body shop (when I had a minor hit-and-run and I replaced my front bumper under insurance). The DIY procedures that I searched up on the forums didn't work, no matter how many times I tried it. Good thing I was reimbursed for it by the body shop, as I didn't want to pay out of pocket for something so simple a cave man could do it |

Oh, and one time long ago, I was trying to get a new set of wheels mounted on my E46. A friend of mine borrowed my torque wrench, so I couldn't do it myself.
I went to a local hole-in-the-wall mechanic shop and asked if I could just borrow their torque wrench or use their lift for like $20 or something. I figured that since they were a small dirty shop, they probably didn't get much business, and would probably want to make a quick buck or two. Little did I know, the mofo wanted $90! To swap wheels/tires! WTF I was just like... and peaced the eff out. True story. |

Wow, over $1k?? When I was in Guam, I would have flown to Oki and done it for that price. It's a 30 min job if you're methodical. Absolutely make sure you order OEM plugs, thread by hand, and use a torque wrench.

A friend was quoted $140 labor to replace a Halogen headlight bulb in her E90. I did it in the parking lot for free.
My dealer wanted $1,400 to install a new steering rack. When pressed to break down the costs, they said they'd do it for $800. Fucking dealerships... |
