My first sunset with my 5D MkIII:
Sunset from my balcony by dcstep, on Flickr I think it works pretty well. ISO 200, f/10, 1/50th sec., hand held. Dave

Another scenic shot. I actually take a lot, but post few here, so I'll try to fix that.
This is looking toward the jetty and the mouth of the St. John's River while standing on Mayport Naval Base, just a bit before sunset: Play and work by dcstep, on Flickr This is some of the last shots that I took with my trusty ole 5D MkII. I just sold it to my youngest daughter, sans lens. She bought the excellent 40mm Canon pancake to get herself started with "real" cameras. Dave

Thanks.
I'm not real big on mid and wide primes, but a pancake might work well for my night street shooting. The reviews that I've read put it's IQ in with the L-series. Dave

Corn to the horizon. Most of it will be lost, though. Sad.

Very interesting. It's hard to see how stunted it is here. If you didn't know better, you'd think it was a healthy field.
Are you impacted by Ag? I understand that most of the farmers are insured, but they've still pulled in their spending and the whole region is suffering. Great shot. Dave

This ear is about 1-1/2" in diameter and about 6 inches long. Not much yield there.
I'm not personally impacted, but my cornfield project is not looking too promising for the harvest portion. I was hoping to be closely involved in the harvesting with some close-ups of the inner workings of the combines and maybe some interior cockpit shots while harvesting. But now it looks like the farmers might just plow stuff under or thresh it for feed or whatever.

Triton3k, great focus and exposure.
Tail feathers are easy to get, so now you need to go for shots with the head showing, good eye contact, good head angle, etc. I know you're overjoyed that you got focus and exposure right and a bird in flight, but now is the time to take the extra step and invest the extra time to get the other end of the birds. Dave
