Question about Xenons...
I keep my headlight switch in automatic mode. I never move it. When I pull into the garage the lights switch on and I know I am just in far enough. So, I turn off the car, the headlights then go off, naturally...
The question is, is that bad for the Xenons to be switched on and then off like that? Will it shorten their life? Or no problem? Anyone know? |

Nope, not that I'm aware of as they aren't like Halogens in that respect...something to do with the material I think, they turn on slowly, well slowly compared to halogens which are an instant on.

Yes theoretically that's especially bad for the xenon's and does shorten their life. But also depends on how long you're going to own the car as they most likely won't break for that reason within a period of 4~5 years. Personally, I never leave my headlights in the auto mode.
