New Apex Ec-7
Just saw these bad boys on my facebook this morning. probably some free advertising for the apex folks as it looks like I'm beating them to posting on the boards haha.
http://www.myapexparts.com/2012/04/2...wheel-release/ new 7-spoke design with 3 different concavities (word?). sounds like they designed this wheel very specifically for our Bimmer track enthusiasts! how long before crfine scoops them up?! haha j/k had to edit. *disclaimer* I am in no way associated with APEX parts. I am not trying to sell anything. I saw a new wheel design and wanted to share with the board!

Seriously! I've been trying to find the right 7-spoke design for a while now...I was about 95% sure I was going to scoop up a set of Arc-8's for my birthday in August since I couldn't decide...
Think any sort of "Initial release group buy" is in order?

We can ask! Nothing like a flood of pics on real cars to sway buyers.

whoa...
this is excellent news! it's almost as if apex has been following my internet search history for the last 2 months, and then made a wheel that has everything from every wheel i've been over. gotta go... i've decided i need a way to fund these.

These look really sweet, I definitely need to consider selling my ARC-8s now.
The Ec-7s are so concave , and I'm thinking that 9.5 ET 43 could work in the front with a little bit of work (Right now im running 8.5 ET 29 up front with a 245/40R18 with relatively no rub under normal driving and I'm only at -1.26 camber). Without a spacer would they clear the suspension components on the inside edge ? Thoughts on these fronts working without a spacer? Last edited by Daemonblitz; 04-28-2012 at 10:04 PM.. |

They look a lot like the M3 Competition package wheels (Style 359m) although those are 8 spoke instead of the Apex's 7 spokes. Would LOVE to see these mounted on a Z4 as the 359m's are one of favorite wheel designs.
OEM: Apex:

And they also look nigh on identical to the BBS GT4 RE motorsport wheels which were used by BMW on their E92 M3 GT racer, no bad thing as i'm guessing the Apex will be a lot cheaper.

fitment id go for is the 18x8.5 +35 and concave 3 18x9.5 +22 or 18x10+25... for the rear which one do you guys think would the least chance of No rub, these sizes are relatively identical from what i can see with the lower offset on the 9.5" rim or the slightly higher on the 10" rim, am i right in thinking these are basically the same size??

We definitely need to see these mounted on a Z4. If these are as light and as good value as the ARC-8 i'll be very tempted................

There was a lot of emphasis on durability, so I wonder if that means they will be heavier than the ARC-8's.

A small # increase wouldn't sway me but if we start getting close to VMR CSL rep #'s I'd have to pass. A small loan may be in order for these and some new Michelin SS's.

2X Look is good, but weight/price is critical when comparing to other possibilities.
