Factory Navi software upgrades?
hello all
ok my navi window says i have SW 4-1/30. I cant get this audiotext option. and i have no option for the birds eye perspective in which i believe is the secret menu...correct me if im wrong....... this picture i get this by holding Menu while in the settings screen and here is the 4-1/30 from the settings menu does the bmw dealer upgrade the navi under warantee or will i have to pay? i also found ( through guidance from memebrs here) the x5 forum with the v29.1 version and am wondering.. can i use this in the z4? http://www.x5world.com/navigation-sy...available.html |

My 07 Z4MC has the birdseye view available. It was at the bottom of the service menu if memory serves.
Knowing BMW, they will likely charge for what it basically a firmware upgrade to the Nav system.

No. You have version 23 per the nav forum:
http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/29257/ I have successfully upgraded to v29.1 on my 2004 z4. There are numerous articles on the web about how to do it or you can buy a pre-made cd from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-V...spagenameZWDVW |

But I held my breath the entire time.....
I too upgraded my 06 Z4M Coupe from 27.1 to 29.1 on my own. It went smoothly using the recommended procedures found on X5world.

Thanks Jarrow. I just got the v29.1 s/w and plan on creating a custom splash screen next. Then I can load it up.

Just a heads up. When it states to burn your CD at the slowest possible rate believe it. I burned my custom CD at 2x thinking it was slow enough and then the new version would not load from the CD I created.

ok so cdclone wouldnt work for me. but imgburn did!
everything works fine now and ive noticed the maps are way smoother now compared to the previous sw 4-1/30 version the only thing is i still dont get the audiotext option when i push info. NOW i have a question regarding listening to CD-R recorded music. first of all i am not using MP3 Cds with 100+ songs, just the standard that holds about 18 songs. i would estimate 90% of the time when i use CD-R music i get CDERROR. and if i dont get CDERROR right away sometimes, and it would play, i cant change tracks. OR i would get CDERROR after a few tracks. i have not tried using 100+ song MP3 discs yet since i dont have a program to burn that type.. yet.. is there a certain program and certain parameters i should be using? |
