I don't use ESSO anyway.... Sunoco has a separate nozzle for 94. I have heard that the EtOH content in Sunoco is not good.... I was advised Shell - but I still do the 94 Sunoco gig....
Your car should be fine with 87.... don't drive it hard and do as T Bone suggests. |

If you're in Canada why don't you AUTOMATICALLY get 94 at Petro-Canada?
your ///Machine deserves it.

I don't have an ///M, but my Zed definitely does deserve it! I'm not sure if the added cost of getting 94 over 91 really does anything other than lighten my wallet. 80% of my driving is city, so I don't think the additional benefit of going higher octane is worth it. |

that sucks but i get what you're saying.
in your car, even 89 is fine. the ECM adjusts timing accordingly, especially if you're not chewing through the gears on a constant basis.

I would love to buy 94 but Sonoco no longer offers it here in the States. When I was working as a Range Medic in Ft. Dix, NJ, they had it then but of course I didn't have my Z at that time.
I drive my Z HARD when I do drive it, which isn't but about 1-2 X/week. I currently use BP or Shell 93 octane. |

Gas is ridiculously expensive these days. For 94, It's typically 14 cents per litre more....so today 94 octane will cost around $1.17 CDN per litre. That's $4.74 US per gallon!
