03 Z4 Sport or M Seat Retrofit? Question/Advice

Hi All,

I'm interested in replacing my factory non heated power leather seats in my 2003 Z4 with a set of 2007 heated power sport seats (similar to M). I am aware that I will most likely have to update the wiring harness for the heated seats and locate a new button cluster, if I want the heat to function.
Does anyone know if I will have any not so obvious problems with the retrofit, especially the wiring. Has anyone done this retrofit? I seem to recall reading through some forums a while back and remember some issues with the passenger occupancy sensor(different type for different years??).
Ideally I would just be able to plug and play for now and worry about the heat later. Just not sure if it is that simple?!!

Any input would be gratly appreciated.

Thanks, Robert

Only difference with M sport seats that come in a Z4 M are the ///M logos.

I don't think the wiring ever changed, but if your car lacks it, you will have to add it.

The occupancy sensor is supposedly set up a little bit differently. I'll let you know in a week when I rip apart mine for some "testing" (aka trying to figure out how to get good reading with my ohmmeter and praying I don't set off the dreaded airbag light).

Edit: Check the Track subsection of the forum.
