AC Schnitzer Carbon Fiber Diffuser installed, Z4M.

Hi everyone,

Well I got it, and it's on the car! I've wanted this thing since the first time I saw it, and I finally went through with it. Let me just start off by saying I could NOT be happier with this thing. It's amazing to look at, and the install went as smooth as could be. The only disappointing thing about the diffuser is that the bezels which go around the exhaust pipes aren't carbon fiber, which I expected them to be. They come primered, so I had them painted satin black as that's the theme for my car.

The car got a TON of looks and questions today during the install, and just draws even more attention now. It really makes the back look more low slung and wider imho, a nice little illusion I suppose. Pardon the tape on the back, but epoxy is used a bit on one side and I need to leave the tape overnight. I'll post more high res pictures at a later time. For now, let me know what you think!

Also, I want to give an enormous THANKYOU to Justin at EuroActive parts. I've ordered from them a couple times, and they've always been outstanding. Justin is super helpful, and always replied to my questions within minutes. Look them up on Ebay if you're looking for high end AC Schnitzer parts etc.

Here's a link to a ton of pictures, which just a few below.

Looks great, nice job.
I like it better this way than molded in the way Roman did his.

I would like to see the tips extended a bit more though.

Thanks!

The tips were a bit of a surprise, as most of the pictures I've seen show the tips sticking WAY out, as in, too far out. I don't really know how you could make them go farther out anyway, I guess it's just the way the Diablo exhaust is made. Good thing I really like the look, I wouldn't change it anyway!

Thanks for the kind compliments everyone, I really appreciate them! I'm so happy, this thing came together just like I envisioned it. I had a bit of apprehension when I received it, but figured I'd better go through with the install or I'd always wonder "what if". Soooooo happy!

Anyway, many folks have asked me about the $$$ for this thing. I don't want to give an exact amount, but for the piece and install, expect north of $2k. If you're mechanically inclined, have the right tools, and don't mind cutting your bumper, you can save the install of course. I definitely don't think anyone can do this alone however, at certain times not only was the tech working on it, but so was another worker, along with myself holding things steady. You really need at least two people I think. I just don't have much mechanical muscle in me, so I paid a pro to make sure everything was done right. The piece is just too expensive to screw up because of my incompetence. ;P

Thanks again!

Sweet looking diffuser, but man that's pricy!

BTW, you an MU fan? I was born and raised in MO and went to Mizzou before heading out to warmer weather.

NickyC, great looking car. Diffusers boost dramatically the look of the BMW Z4, especially the E85/6.

I would like to know:

1- Size of your tires.
2- Availability of such an AC Schnitzer diffuser for the 3.0i model (pre-facelift).
3- Type of your exhaust (tips are awesome).

2. This I don't know.
3. Rogue Engineering Diablo exhaust.

Thanks again.

You're welcome.

I thought your tires are 275 due to their width. I LOVE the rear-end of the E85 Z4 Roadster... its wide and bumpy arches, the trunk design, everything in it is so special. I'll look for the exhaust and AC Schnitzer diffuser if it's available for the 3.0i.

By the way, my Rieger carbon fiber diffuser costed me a fortune and is enroute to me, so when I install it, I'll take some pictures too.

Very nice. Are the bezels a molded fiberglass piece or are they solid?

That diffuser is much smaller and simpler then I thought. Someone should make a copy :P
It looks great - I would love to get it, but not for $2k +

I checked for the 3.0i, AC Schnitzer has a totally different model, an apron. It's not in carbon fiber and not worth a penny IMO. Even the exhausts Rogue Engineering Diablo are available for the Z4 M models only.

Looks great...but that's a lot of $$ for a piece of carbon fiber Just curious, why didn't you want to do a carbon fiber wrap on the exhaust trims? Also, since the exhaust trims are "glued" to the bumper and the rear diffuser, how would you remove those pieces (without damaging any of them) if you need to work in that area of the car?
