What if anything is missing here?

I can't remember ever seeing anything screwed in here but I just noticed this today. Am I missing a fitting or a rubber bumper or...? Thx.

Pictured is the underside of the front of the hood by the latch, nothing is missing there, my car has that same hole by the hood latch

Oops, sorry about the omission of "hood" but thanks everone. When I took a close look at that it seemed from the used-looking appearance that something originally had been screwed in.
