Studie Z4 M-Coupe GTR Conversion

Here is Studie's project Z4 M-coupe which they have converted to look like the BMW M-Coupe GTR.

Not a fan of those rear quarter panels. An those spoilers should be kept on the track not public roads.

So does this make it faster or slower?

Slower in a straight line due to increased drag, but on a track with corners it will surely be faster with the appropriate rubber applied to the huge a$$ wheels.

dont quite know if youre correct on that one... looks like the majority if not all of those parts were made of CF, which probably means they are lighter...

the "increased drag" should provide more downforce to help keep the car more stable at higher speed... we havent seen this thing in a wind tunnel, for all we know its likely more aerodynamic than stock (look how low the front is)

It could go either way...I'd venture to say the tuned the engine as well...which would definately make it faster in a straight line.

Oh...drag and downforce are 2 completely different things...by changing the shape and/or dropping it you can degrease drag and increase downforce...

As far as weight goes, it looks pretty gutted too, so i doubt it ways more than stock.

Whether the drag is applied through downforce to the tires or front plate drag, it will likely be slower in a straight line assuming no changes were made to the power plant. On the other hand, it will probably do much better in maintaining speed through the corners where it will have the advantage in the long run on a road course. You're right about the weight reduction benefits of carbon fiber, but the pieces seem to be quite a bit larger and the weight savings may not be that much more of a benefit. Either way, I would be interested in the price of the components.

Maybe someone should find out what the new body drag coefficient is...

I don't like the rear spoiler or the velvet green wheel and emergency brake. Wheel gap is huge. Overall I really think the car looks great. It would definitely turn heads.
