Late to the game as I'm rarely on these forums, but have read through with interest, and would like to add to the list, pending a final price (as being in Europe, I will have to work something out with shipping and import taxes).
My Clubsports have done around 40k now, with 75:25 track/road mileage, and I fancied moving them on and upgrading to the newer designs or possibly Intrax, but this would take preference over that for sure.

As for updates I don't have much right now. Talked to Ohlins but they haven't firmed up a date of production for me yet. They did confirm that ride height will be the same as stock or only a tiny bit lower at max height (you can slam it of course if you want) and people will have the option of buying without springs if they choose (so you can run stiffer springs if you're a track-junky and don't care for mixed street/track). I'll let you guys know as soon as production dates firm up. But knowing how slow these things can move, I wouldn't expect anything for at least a month or two. Quote:

So these Ohlins are progressive in rear, correct?

No, definitely not.
They are linear all the way around.

Gotcha... so then the rear assembly is not the same as a traditional coilover, right? I'm curious after reading this thread. Is the rear assembly the same as OEM?

no; its not a rear coil over.
Its just the springs in the OE location that change to linear. Plus the damper tube has a length adjustment to add some spring preload so that there is no looseness with the linear spring.

So that should be plenty. We have to keep in mind here that with the Ohlins DFV technology, running rock hard springs is not really beneficial. With sophisticated damping that reacts FAST, the springs don't need to be buckboard hard. ....hope Ohlins gets this going soon

interesting.....
PSI is advertising the E46 M3 spring rates as..... "SPRING RATES: Front: 70 N/mm (400 lbs/in.) Rear: 110 N/mm (628 Lbs/in.)"

Interesting. We'll have to see what they come back with.
E46 M3 is about 3,500 lbs IIRC, so I could see higher rates for the weight i guess. Pretty sure it follows the 50/50 weight distribution BMW promotes as optimal too. So, interesting the front is so much different from rear. But testing/data is the deciding factor. |

I'm still working on this. Right now i'm in the process of getting a dealer that can give us a package deal with some really great discounts all around by being able to source the entire kit including swift springs. Then we can get into the deposit -> fitting -> fabrication -> testing -> production -> full payment -> happy forum members with new coilovers.

Great work on this Beta!!
The more I read the more I like the idea of the Swift option.

Check out this spring calculator on the Hyperco site. It shows the effects of dimensions & angle. It helps understanding of why the rears need to be harder than the fronts even on a 50/50 car.
