OMG that is some project
Seems like nothing is stock (or even bmw made!) anymore, except the rear subframe maybe, but that sits now in the trunk That is A LOT of work!

Awesome! This should be done to every wrecked e86. Can't wait to see the rest!
Edit: Not say that your's was and don't know if it was wrecked but it seems like it would be the humanitarian thing to do in such a situation.

You are correct was hit front right corner. In a few states in Australia any car that has been damaged is automatic write off no matter how minor. Project is bigger than we expected nothing on the car is standard anymore due to both the motor and gtr kit. My advice to anyone who wants to buy a gtr kit is don't, they are designed for tube frame or monocock cars with an extremely low ride height of around 60-80mm

Holy crap. This is going to be amazing. Was a dream of mine to fit an ls in a Z4 but my thought was an LS7.
What are you going to do with the electric? Moving to GM? Separate? |

Wouldn't expect to much from it for a while as aero is a whole new kettle of fish for me and with sweet FA teams who run these cars and even less who speak English it hard to know where our spring rates etc should be. "Holy crap. This is going to be amazing. Was a dream of mine to fit an ls in a Z4 but my thought was an LS7. What are you going to do with the electric? Moving to GM? Separate?" We looked trying to keep the z4 front end with the elec steering in the end it was just to much mucking around, implanting the front end from the donor ssv gave an easy solution to the steering as well as an extra 120mm in WB width which was needed to fill the guards out, it also allows for more suspension adjustment over the bm's setup , the big downside to this is trying to get a set of coilovers is a PITA. Ohlins didn't what to know us, Nitron put it in the to hard basket so we are currently trying getting Cusco to custom make what we need they seem to think it won't be a problem lets hope so. |

Hi, What a great project, I wanted to do one years back, but knew there was a lot of fabricating to do to get the body to sit correctly with suspension etc. Fantastic looking car always, the GTR. As for suspension, have you thought of Intrax, would a set from an E46 M3 maybe fit, although the front arms and hubs would need to be swapped over. Not sure if Studie in Japan went that route, maybe worth asking? How did you find the quality of the bodykit, as I know of someone over here in the UK after one?
