The sliders is OEM Bmw, so I didnt want to mess with them. What I did was to mod the floor with new brackets. Also the airbags fitted to those seats had to go, there isn't space for them. And the Z4 have side airbag in doors. Had to buy the side panels that hide where airbags where fitted. Got them from Recaro that produce those seats for Bmw. Difficult to get just the panels from them. Another problem was the difference in electronics, so the seat heating and occupancy sensor had to be modded to work. So a lot of work, but it looked great

So the normal recaro sportster cs might be easier to fit?

Everything that I have read so far about the magnesium engine says it can't be done. I contacted ESS a few months ago, and they said that they were working on a supercharger set up, but I haven't heard anything since.

[QUOTE=Aries326;17874271]Here's the thread:
▀▄ eas | ESS N52 Supercharger Install Pictures http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1090691[/QUOTE Thanks for the link, I checked it out, but it looks as if there could be an issue with the computer. The supercharger and plumbing may hook up without issue, but those other vehicles running the N52, could be running the N52B25, or a N52B30 that may not have the same computer mapping as mine. Also, what ability (or flash software) is there out there that will allow me to re-flash my computer so that my vehicle can handle the modifications (i.e except the forced induction). |

Bring your car to ESS, don't know why you keep being so scarred of supercharging and keep to want to supercharge your car.
If 1 company can tune and keep it safe it's ESS. It doesn't matter wich engine you have they Will have a map for your specific engine. If you want to keep everything extremly safe , keep your car stock, put in the garage and don't drive it. Let's get on topic, how is the coupe coming bmwZ ?

If you are as intelligent as you are arrogant, you would understand this, and you would have noted that I mentioned that I did speak to ESS, and was told by a representative there, that they had not completed the mapping for my year, make and model. This does not mean that some one else hasn't figured out how to make the ESS kit work for my vehicle. Hopefully this put you back on topic. |

^the year thought thing is more of a north american way of thinking. in europe we talk about facelift/non facelift and engine codes because there isn't that much difference between the years of the car. the mapping for any E85/E86 with the N52 should be the same as the engine and ECU should not be different between the years of the E85/E86( as far as i know). only the engine size's configuration can be different ( 2.5/ 3.0 and the HP they produce (si or not))
so they prob. have a N52 mapping for a Z4 but maybe only for a 3.0si and not a 2.5i/2.5si ? the fact is the Topic starter lives in Norway, not to far from ESS HQ so he'll prob have them do the mapping on his car ?

Hi! Been a while since visiting the forum Have been working on my F10 550ix for those last weeks. But now the F10 is sold and I can use more time on the Z again
Because of issues with government regulations I have wait with the install until July 6th. The car will be one year older that day and it is less restrictions then. Have of course talked with ESS and they have a new software that support the 3.0Si. They are only concerned of the air intake tubing will fit. The kit is from a E90. But I think tubing will be a quick fix anyway. My next mods will be Z4M conversion, again!! But this time on a Coupe |

Thanks for the update! Tubing will no doubt be a quick fix. They should have a complete kit that fits the Z4 correctly with the appropriate tune by this time next year. I can't wait!

When I used to have my e39 this guy was just killing the forums with his newly sprayed 540i. It has red wheels so I think this is a good comparison to make with your red interior.
http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...concave-wheels My friend did the same paint on his e30. It looks amazing in person!!! When the sun shines on it you see this pearlescent flakes it just looks It's not for everyone. |

I have allready looked at this colour, it is called Grigio Telesto from Lamborghini. It is really cool and it is allready used on a Z4: I`m not 100% blown away of how it looks on this Z. So have been looking of simular colours. My favorite to date is Porsche GrauSchwartz non metallic, it has a darker nicer colour tone: My second favorite is BMW Individual San Marino blue, but I`m not feeling the red/blue Spiderman colour together The colour is sooo beautiful

Wow the GrauSchwarz looks much better than Grigio Telesto actually.
If you're looking into blue, it reminded me of the new 340i that's coming out - Mediterranean Blue. Speaking of 340i. I really like Champagne Quartz Metallic! You should also look into Atlantis Blue (not AtlantiC), pretty popular. |
