More of a comment on the ultra low mileage than the price and the fact "it's only an Si"
It's a brand new 6 year old car. What did they sell for in 2008? |

How does this exist lol? I don't know why someone would buy an automatic 2 seater sport coupe and not drive it at all

Actually a fully loaded Si could be had for this price. BMW was offering $6k rebates before you even walked into the dealership.

With that interior I wouldn't drive it much either.

Well I guess I was wrong about the excitement level over this.
Coming from the muscle car genre it would have caused quite a stir to find such a low mileage car. |

I think this is a gorgeous car and TBH, I would take an si over an M. I just like the si a little more - I have owned M's most of my life and just no longer need the savage power and go kart handling that M cars offer. I do lots of long-distance trips now and prefer the non-Ms because they are very comfortable on highway cruises whereas most Ms I have owned (except the E39) were not particularly good highway cruisers. |

Here's what I'd consider a BMW time capsule car. '95 E36 M3 Lightweight, ultra rare with only 99 miles on it, and almost 20 years old.

There were mixed reviews when WildBill posted the news about the 2007 M coupe that I ended up buying last summer - given it had under 500 miles on it. Concern that it was going to be mechanically a problem from sitting so long. But it turned out to have been cared for and serviced 3 times in that interval (though it was not driven). It now has 4K miles on it and I love it. So this car may also have been well cared for, though not driven. My prior owner traded it in at the BMW dealership where he had purchased it, so I had records. Potentially harder to get from World Class Motors. I agree that there is a premium for the "super low mileage" that is hard to exactly quantify. I paid 37K (they had started at 40K) for my Sepang M coupe with 350 miles. I had found a couple other very low mileage (10-15K) M coupes in the low 30's and had missed on the sale during the dickering. This was quite a find so I pulled the trigger. 36K for an Si is high - but asking price is not selling price. It would be interesting to see what it ends up selling for.

NADA rates a 2008 z4 3.0si automatic in excellent condition with less than 1000 miles at 31.000. So I would offer closer to 28 and shoot for 30 If I were interested.
But it loses points for being and automatic, IMHO. (Don't get me started)
