For the exterior I like the blue better. The interior of the black one is pretty slick though, piano black dash, black and white seats. Haven't seen an interior like that on this side of the pond. What settles it for me is that the black one is stick

I totally agree. The black one has an awesome interior. If I could get over the & for the black one's interior, I would take a look at mileage, etc. and try to be logical about it. However, I have never been known to be sensible. If I actually saw the interior and not just a picture, even knowing how tough it is to keep a black car clean and nice looking, I would wipe the lickspittle of my chin and lay my money down. If you do get the black one, I definitely want to see more pics of that interior!! Good luck choosing.

Wasn't there a Plaid exterior for Scotland?
But yeah, it looks like this is a very black and white issue. Having said that, folks with black cars here report that they are difficult to keep free of swirl marks. So, be prepared to put a bit extra care into your exterior wash and wax routine if you pick that car. Both cars are gorgeous. Think of all those folks who would envy you, having to choose between these two great rides. Good luck!

Black is better to me, I am not too fond of the Montego Blue, Interlagos has more pop. Plus... Automatic? really?
The Black cars interior looks great

Definitely the black (because of interior and manual).

It is strange to me why BMW chose to do so many different things in different countries. Wouldn't it have been more cost effective to have the same options worldwide? I am surprised we don't see more cars like the black one above pop up for sale as a US factory executive car. They were all made in Greer, SC so it would have been simple for an exec to say "make me an M Coupe in black with the black/white individual interior". I have yet to see one show up on the boards though. I wonder if there are any of them here? I suppose one could order the leather seat covers and dash parts if they so desired. I would love to have this interior(which IMO so much better follows the two tone interior offered in the Z3M - why the Z4M didn't have it as option is beyond me):

I did not buy new, but I understood the individual/sport options were not available in the US(maybe they were in Canada?). If so, someone would certainly have ordered one and spoken up on the forums over the years. Audi/VW are similar in that many of the cool interior options are not available in the US while you can get them in Europe. I suspect it is the relatively cheap prices we pay over here. For fun I priced out the parts I would need to copy the red/black car above. The dash parts would be $800, the door panels $2,400 and the seat covers $3,000(with the 20% off through BMWpartzdirect.com factored in and still needing to be installed...). I might do the dash someday, but $6K for the package is pretty steep IMO.

OMG!! Are you therious?? After all of the above comments. The black one is to die for! Manual tranny, way cool interior. So what if you have to take of care of the outside more. Consider it caressing your baby. Everyone here would jump on it. Fugginay!

Yes, I had a 2006 roadster with those wheels. They are much better looking than the standard sport pkg wheels we got on the coupes in the US.
I also had a 2007 Montego blue si coupe and loved the color but I have to agree with the majority of the posts above, the black car's interior combined with the manual transmission are much bigger deals than the exterior color. Personally, I would get bored with the automatic and would not doubt trade it off within a year.
