New to Z4 couple of Q?

Hi guys,
I just picked up a Z4 last week I was in the market for a convertible and really liked the way the Z4 looked so naturally I picked up a coupe, the mini dealership across the street had one sitting there so I took it for a test drive to see if I would like the Z4 and I fell in love with the coupe. Its a great car 06 Alpine White 3.0si 40k on it and recently CPO.

My interior is black w/ wood grain trim, I think the wood grain just looks out of place on this car and plan on changing it to cf, does anybody of any after market company's that make a billet aluminum sport button i think it would look great against cf trim.

How hard is it to put an after market radio in these cars? I read the thread on the double din radio install and it looks pretty sick, I have the business cd not the biggest fan of the radio, burnt my first cd in a couple of years the other day. I also have the 10 speaker set up it does sound great.

Congrats on the purchase! love alpine white. The woodgrain could be changed but will run you like $1500 for the cf i think?

The 10 speaker facotry system i think sucks in my opinion. No mids or bass. I added a sub now im thinking of adding 2 6x9.

After market head units look terrible in my opnion. I think you should just upgrade the speakers and amp. After market head units look terribly cheesy and im sure itll make the car harder to sell.

Looks great in white and +1 not sure where the foglights are at? Maybe previous owner removed for cosmetic purposes?

Had to run down to the car to double check, i think this is the fog light it seems hidden back not sure how to turn them on either.

I think it depends on the radio you put in the car, most do look like ridiculous fisher price toys with purple neon. If i did go aftermarket it would be for a sleeker high end radio that maintains the look of the interior.

I do love the alpine white, i just need to find a nice cf front splitter and maybe a nice wing for the back.

Yes, those are the fog lights - I thought I could see a hint of them in your previous picture. The switch is just to the right of your headlight switch, below the interior light dimming rheostat.

Nice looking car, congrats! And get your bug removal spray out ...

I haven't heard about any after market trim offerings, but some have pulled off their trim and done their own wrap. Also one guy on here pulled off his trim and painted it piano black, it looked awesome.

Car look great, and welcome to the fam!

I have the same wood trim, those are good for those suction type iphone / gps dock.. I also have brush aluminum but since there isn't a good docking solution for the phones, i never swapped to the brush aluminum

I still can't figure out why some M seats have stitched pieces while others use single pieces. I kind of like the look of the stitching. Mine has single pieces on the side bolsters - unlike your car.

Lookin great! Keep the wood in for a bit. It might grow on you. You might find the interior with cf trim too black/ dark.

Yea wood is out of place in your car, feels like a grandpa's station wagon. Alpine white looks great.

I'm not sure the wood will grow on me, I think it would look great on a tan interior but that color of trim just doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the car.

I understand that. I believe I have seen M cars with the stitched seats as well though. It seems to be rather random whether they have it done one way or the other..

From someone that has wood trim, I agree with you, I don't think it flows with your black interior.

If I was in your shoes I'd buy the OEM carbon leather trim (~ $1500), then sell the wood trim on here for maybe half of that.
