I have not sold my car yet. Also, if you read the thread again carefully of what I replied to MarinB, I said the roof rack was designed for the 7 series. So what ever it requires for the 7 series, buy it! Thats it. Sounds like I was getting bashed on a lot about this. Hope this helps. I will try to get more information.

More information needed please!

I'm trying to get a roof rack to mount tires (switching to R-Comps in the future) on top of the car. Instead of a trailer, this would be less intrusive, IMO.

Pictures of where they actually mount, and specific item numbers are needed!

Can you take a couple of detailed pics of how the clips mount to the roof? That would help a ton.

Also, what body style 7 series? The 7 series has been around for a long time...

It seems we will never get the Yakima clip # from this guy.

Now it seems someone else manage to fit on a Z4 Coupe a Thule designed for a 99 Impreza.

I'm going to try that!

For anyone interested in my rack: Here is the thread
I use SeaSucker roof mounts, I have a bike mount and I modified it for a snowboard. They have a lot of good reviews, people use them on supercars and porsches. Its a good alternative.

OK, I successfully installed a Thule Roof Rack and bike adaptors on my Z4 M Coupe.

I used Feets and brackets for a 1999 Subary Impreza Sedan (4 door).

It's a good fit, solid enought to carry two bikes safely. Just don't try to beat the Nürburgring lap record with two down hill MTB on top and you should be ok!

In my case I used 47" aerobars with 480R feets and 1122 fit kit.
I already had the 47" aerobars so I reused them but it's borderline short for the front bar which make the installation a little difficult, I would recommend the next size up.

I also had a Thule wind deflector fitted.
Normally, the wind deflector lower edge is suppose to be on the roof as an extention of the windshied.
In my case, with the Imprezza front bracket, you can't move back the front bar enough so the deflector lower edge remains on the windshied upper section. It's not a big deal and I didn't notice any wind noises up to 70 MPH, but it's not a perfect fit so I would recommend it. Also without the wind deflector, you can move the front bar about two inches to the front getting more space between the front and rear bar.
I'm keeping the Wind deflector on because: 1) I already have it, 2) it looks cool, 3) I don't need the extra space between the bar because I use fork mount bike adaptors.

I'm sure a Yakima rack for the Subaru 99 Imprezza would also fit.

Got to go, I have a club ride this evening where I will show off my new toy!

Walter
